Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah, I hope everyone is well, I am also well by the grace of Alhamdulillah. Seeing that we have passed the fourth week of engagement posts. And I came to a healthy topic of the fifth week. Each course of the contester is very important which is important for our physicality.

So I am presenting something here by getting education according to the course. Before that, I'm inviting some of my friends. Those who participate in this competition will get their own education, others will get education. They are @heriadi @aviral123 @pandora2010

Describe in detail the mechanism of choking. What happens physiologically when the airway is obstructed? List and explain the distinctive features or signs of choking, including how to differentiate between partial and complete obstruction.

Choking or strangulation is a process in which a person's airway is blocked for some reason and he has difficulty breathing heavily, due to difficulty in breathing, oxygen is interrupted in his body and due to this, the affected person can even die, but if emergency procedures are adopted, in this case, the person's life can be saved.

  • When the airway is blocked, the physiological processes are as follows: Lack of oxygen in the body: When the airway is closed, it is difficult to breathe. Due to difficulty in breathing, oxygen cannot enter the body. And then there is a shortage of oxygen. At the same time, oxygen levels in the blood also decrease.

  • Increase in carbon dioxide: Due to the closure of the airways, there is a shortage of oxygen in the body and carbon dioxide increases, carbon dioxide accumulates in the lungs and the level of carbon dioxide in the blood increases.

  • Brain damage: Without oxygen, the brain cannot perform its activities, which can lead to death due to lack of oxygen.

Difference between partial and complete airway obstruction:-

Partial obstructionFull Tagged
1) In the case of partial blockage, the air enters lightly, and oxygen transport is small.1) In the case of complete blockage, air does not enter at all, so oxygen is obstructed.
2) It is possible to say a little in the case of partial obstruction.2) You can't talk about complete binding.
3) Quick treatment can be fine.3) There is a lot of breathing.
4) If you do not take quick action, it can become a complete obstacle.4) Shortness of breath can lead to rapid death.

Demonstrate the Heimlich maneuver on a sibling, child, or peer (using safe simulations). Attach pictures of the demonstration and explain the procedure in detail, highlighting key points such as positioning, technique, and safety precautions..

In the Heimlich maneuver, when I see that a person is having trouble breathing or speaking, I will stand behind him and hold the affected person's navel surface with one hand and the other hand over the top of the hand, and through this method the air will force the obstruction to expel it. I will continue this process until the obstruction comes out.

Caution:

  • For children under five years of age, the procedure should be done by hitting the chest and back.

  • And in the case of pregnant and obese people, chest pressure has to be applied.

Security:-

  • Incorrect injury can cause organ damage.
It is important to call emergency services before using this method.

Consider a situation where you encounter a conscious person choking on food. They are showing signs of cyanosis and restricted breathing.

When I notice that a person's food is stuck in his airway and he is suffering from severe shortness of breath, I will adopt some methods.
Such as

I have to quickly see if he can breathe and talk if if he can't talk and can't breathe, then I have to understand that the person is suffocated.

  • Calling for help:- Calling people for help by shouting around, and calling emergency services.

  • Trying to help the affected person:- Helping the affected person, and giving courage.

  • The Heimlich technique is applied to the individual.

  • If the victim loses consciousness, provide immediate CPR.

  • Once the obstruction is removed from the trachea, arrange for the person to be rushed to the local hospital.

Create an infographic (visual illustration) on managing choking emergencies.

For some reason, if something gets stuck in the throat, he chokes. In that case, we have already discussed what to do for us so far. According to the question of dear sir, now I will design a design that will clearly reflect through the design that when people are children or someone like this, we have to do with it. With the design, I discussed the necessary information and picture size in detail. Let's come and meet the design.

In the picture mentioned above, I have presented everything in such a way that when children get something stuck in the throat, what to do for us. What to do to stop this stuck with the baby, in the second picture I presented, thirdly you can see a man being eaten with his hands on his back so that the stuck thing in his throat comes out.

In the fourth picture, the information and the picture I have provided shows that by pressing a man to the chest, he is correcting the blockage. In addition, if the person becomes unconscious, then CPR should be started. Just as I gave the information and image.

Thank You Everyone For My Post Reading

Student Name: @memamun
Overall grade: 6.6
Plagiarism Check: Pass
AI Use: No

QuestionWhat the Student Did WellAreas for ImprovementGrading
Question 1Provided what are the changes in a body that causes partial airway obstruction compared to complete airway obstruction. There are a few shortcomings in this question as you didn't mention what causes these sort of obstructions. Some people are allergic to certain edibles which may cause sudden partial or complete obstruction whereas some people might have something stuck in their airway passage.[Grade: 1.8]
Question 2Outlined the approach of performing a Heimlich maneuver. The student has a few shortcomings in this question. Important term of 'thrusting' is missing. The term 'hitting' is used which is not the right way Remember, during the Heimlich maneuver, upward movement of the hand is not necessary, but upward thrust are of utmost priority with force as it will help in clearing the airway obstruction. The student also failed to mention the position of the hand, ie, to make it a fist and then hold it tightly from the other hand. The number of thrusts are also missing.[Grade: 1.5]
Question 3Listed the steps of managing an emergency choking scenario. You never 'shout' for medical assistance. This will create further panic and that's the last thing you want in this situation. The answer is too concise. How would you know whether the person is conscious or not? What are the signs of shock? The explanation could have been elaborated further for instance , the first step would always be to assess the situation. Would you start the Heimlich maneuver straight away or would you wait for the choking person to clear the obstruction on his own first by coughing? How many thrusts would you give? You mentioned CPR. How many compressions? You also haven't mentioned how to remove the obstruction.[Grade: 0.8]
Question 4The student managed to present an infographic. Infographics in the medicine field serve as important tool for having access to more information in a single place. These are typically necessary to have as a first aider.[Grade: 2.5]

General Feedback: The student needs to focus more on the details of the questions separately and come up with detailed answers which would be beneficial for him in the future as well.
Thank you.
