Communication is one the most vital aspect of human life. Without communication, I believe the world could have been stagnant. People couldn't have been able to talk, walk together, or do anything together. Therefore, progress and development could have been absent. For people to be able the communicate effectively, there most have the understanding of a particular language. Around the globe, there are millions of languages spoken by several ethnic groups.

Nevertheless, few of the languages are been accepted and spoken in different countries. And you do believe with me that English language is the most popular, accepted, and the most spoken language in the world. With English Language, you can go and relate with people in different countries. For instance, if you go the Europe, there is no country that does not speak English. Even here in Africa, most of the countries speak English.

In essence, English language is very essential because it gives you higher tendency of relating effectively with different people around the globe without facing any challenge of languages barrier. As such, it is good to learn it at all cost.

Here is Nigeria, English language happens to be a general language. Although we have 3 Major languages like Hausa, Yoruba, and igbo, English happens to be the general. We use English both is school, and other organisations. It's almost impossible to grow here in Nigeria and not understand English.

As for me, I did not learnt to speak English language, but I grew up to find myself speaking it. I'm happy that I can fluently speak it because it gives me the privilege to relate with people around me and also with those who are in other countries. As earlier mentioned, people in different countries speak English language.

It is said that practice makes perfect. It is almost impossible to be able to learn to speak English when you don't often speak it. Although they are people who try to learn it from printed materials, I believe finding someone to speak the language with is a better way of learning.

Some of the steps that can be applied to mastering the language are:

  • Reading books that are written in English
  • writing in English language
  • speaking the language often
  • listening to news in English language
  • relating with people that speak the language

It might be possible for someone to learn the language on his or her own, but I doubt how well he or she will master it. Finding a partner is just the best option. Remember, the more you speak it, the more you master it. I remember the story of a boy who was brought from a village. He had zero knowledge of English language, but after spending 3 months in school, he was able to start speaking it. The reason is, he found his self among other kids who speak the language, and by relating with them, he learned it. In essence, finding a partner is the best way to learn English language.

I now invite @josepha, @waterjoe, and @yakspeace to participate.
