I greet every member of the community. My name is Ade and my handle is @adeade. I am here to take part in this quiz which revolves around the positive impact of technology in our lives and how technology has been useful to us. Before I begin to respond to the quiz questions, as I always do, I would like to describe some key words in my response for smooth understanding. Here are the keywords:

• Technology: the assembly of practical knowledge for a specific purpose.

• Information: this means something that is known about another thing.

• Internet: this is the global intercommunication network of computers.

• Cloud: these are interconnections of remote servers on the internet usually used for data storage, management and processing.

• Virtual: this is a simulation or immigration of something not physically present.

• Realities: the state of being actual.

How does technology help protect our information on the internet?

Technology safeguard information on the internet through various means. Here are few of the means listed below:

1. Encryption: this is the use of technology to encode data in order to make it unreadable to any unauthorized user.

1. Firewalls and Security Software: this is the use of technology to block authorized attempt or access.

2. Multi-factor Authentication (MFA): this is the use of technology to add more layers of security to an account in order to block unauthorized access. These layers of security include biometric, password, otp, security codes, etc

3. Secure Browsing Protocols: the use of technology such as https, secure DNS, VPN, etc, help to create secure connections and prevent data interceptions.

What's the cloud, and how does it make computers special?

Although I have described what is meant by cloud in my descriptions above, I will further re-explain it in a very simple language that can be understood by a layman.

Now, let's look at it this way. Instead of storing, managing or processing data on a local computer or server, technology services that allow the use of networks hosted on remote servers on the internet can be implemented. These services allow the use of different resources on the internet without any physical hardware or infrastructure. These therefore:

• Make it possible for access to data remotely.

• Enable scaling up or down of computers.

• Make it possible to avoid the cost of purchasing and maintaining physical hardwares.

• Encourage collaborations and sharings by allowing multiple users of resources at different locations at the same time.

• Allow data backup and easy recovery of data when there is hardware failure.

Can you describe virtual reality in simple terms?

Although I have described virtual and realities in my keywords descriptions above, I will also describe the compound words virtual-reality here. Virtual reality is a computer simulation that makes one feel he is in a different world. It's a technology that creates an impression that one is inside a computer generated environment.

In conclusion, technology has really impacted lives beyond description. Scientists and technologists all over the world work day and night in order to improve on the current technology at any point in time. For this, I say kudos to all scientists and technologists all over the world.
