Caladium Bicolor Leaves 🌱
It’s also called Heart of Jesus, is a species in the genus Caladium belonging to the family of Araceae from Latin America. It’s grown as a houseplant for its large, heart or lance-shaped leaves with striking green, white, pink & red blotching. Hundreds of cultivars are available as an ornamental.
It’s a problematic invasive species in Trinidad and Tobago, Guam, Micronesia, Palau, Hawaii & the Philippines, which naturalized populations can be found in most of the rest of the world's tropics, including Africa, the Indian subcontinent, southeast Asia & Malesia. It’s used in ethnomedicine for the treatment of boils, wound ulcers and convulsion.
