Philippine Enchanted river

I just want to share this with everyone about one of the most beautiful hidden gems of the Philippines

The Hinatuan Enchanted River is commonly called as Enchanted River.

The Hinatuan Enchanted River, also called the Hinatuan Sacred River, is a deep spring river found at Barangay Talisay, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines.

The Enchanted River looks like a big hole in the ground. From the surface, you can gauge where it’s deepest because of the transition of shades from light to darkest blue. The Enchanted River is believed to be 90 feet deep.

There are several reasons why they called it Enchanted River.

There were several attempts to explore the depth and reveal the underwater compartments in this river and many foreigners attempt to reach its very bottom and until today no one has reached it so far.

One story tells of fairies that added the colors of sapphire and jade to the river to make its unique shade. ... According to locals, the river was called the Enchanted River because of the engkantos(enchanted creatures) that dwell there. Their legends also say that the river is haunted by supernatural beings who act as its protectors.
