Exclusive for Steemit - The priorities of the James Webb.

Abraham Loeb, an astronomer from Harvard University who investigates many areas, presented last year with other students from Harvard University, a study that analyzed the capabilities of the James Webb.

His job was to evaluate the capacity of the James Webb, reaching the conclusion that it was capable or could be capable of seeing artificial lights on the exoplanet Proxima Centauri b, of course if artificial lights existed, it would have that definition capacity according to the study he did. Abraham Loeb and these Harvard University students.

In that same study they also affirm that they can detect artificial lights or the lights caused by massive eruptions, to know if they are massive volcanic eruptions or artificial lights, it would be necessary to analyze the atmosphere of Proxima Centauri b and from there that story invented by the press and tabloid media.

It would not have the ability to see lights or volcanoes on other more distant exo planets because, well, the james webb is powerful, but it does not have that ability,
Perhaps in the future, when more powerful telescopes are made, as has been proposed recently, using gravitational lenses, specifically using the sun, it may be possible to fine-tune and see volcanic eruptions on other distant worlds, but for now, this is what there is and from there it is where they have taken this bizarre story from the study on the ability to study Proxima Centauri b.

And the curious thing is that the first worlds that james webb is going to study does not focus directly on Proxima Centauri b, because first it is going to focus on other worlds that are easier to analyze; It is one thing to have a powerful tool and another to know how to use it well, it is like having a very powerful car and another to know how to drive it correctly, it is not the same; When you want to learn to drive, they take you to special tracks where driving is easier and you can learn in a limited and controlled place and where the probability of an accident is minimized.

The same happens with James Webb, the first two exo planets that have been chosen to study (LHS 3844 b and 55 Cancri e) are two very hot worlds that orbit very close to their stars, it is not possible that there is life on them, but thanks to the fact that they orbit very close to their stars they also pass in front of them very every few hours, remember that most of the data we have on exoplanets is thanks to the fact that those worlds pass in front of their star and these two in particular that have been chosen because they happen practically every day, every few hours this means having a lot of data.

They have chosen these exo planets because in them the atmosphere can be analyzed in one and in the other the surface can be analyzed, the rocks that it may contain, that is why these two worlds have been chosen as the first objectives and not Proxima Centauri b, which could be interesting, but it is that Proxima Centauri b passes every 11.2 days with which we would have to wait 11.2 days to have new data and even worse other worlds similar to the earth that orbit stars similar to the sun, those are further from the star and they happen every several hundred days and if we focus on one of those worlds and we do not collect the observation data well, we would have to wait a whole year to collect the data again.

That is why astronomers prefer first and perfect the technology and technique with these worlds and then focus on others that may be more promising to have life, that is why we must have patience if we want to find life on other worlds.

Minor correction, my friend. The name is James Webb ;)

That's right; the important thing is the ideas! Cheers!

It is!
