Aivazovsky was born under the shelter of an Armenian family, on June 29, 1817, in Feodosia, a port located on the Black Sea in Crimea. He lived there almost his entire life. He was only absent from his homeland on some trips to Europe, especially to Italy.

He studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg. He was hired as the main painter of the Russian Navy, which made him interact with many people of political power in this country. In his career of almost sixty years, he managed to paint approximately six thousand works, with the sea being one of his recurring themes. In that context he recreated battles and love scenes.

Art critics classified him as a magician, capable of realistically capturing: waves, sunsets, sunsets and marine turbulence...

Aivazovsky died on May 2, 1900, in Feodosia, at the age of 83.

Below we present three of his works so that you can choose the one you like the most to write about. the first is titled Ninth Wave (1850), the second, Stormy Sea at Night (1849) and the third Morning on the Seashore (1849 ).
