This distinguished painter was born on April 5, 1732 in Grasse (Alpes-Maritimes Region). His father was dedicated to making gloves, but due to financial problems the whole family moved to Paris. At that time Jean-Honoré was six years old. While in Paris, his father sent him to work in a notary's office as a notary. It was there that he felt the desire to become a painter.

He became a student of Francois Bouchey, and in 1752, when he was 20 years old, he won the Prix de Rome.

In 1756 he traveled to Italy and there he was captivated by the beauty of the gardens, fountains and temples, which he would later try to replicate in his works.

He belonged to the artistic movement known as "rococo."

Fragonard died on August 22, 1806 in Paris, at the age of 74, practically forgotten.

Below we present three of his works so that you can choose the one you like the most to write about. The first is titled The Secret Meeting (1771), the second, The Blind Hen (1760) and the third The Lock (1776).
