Esta era su tercera vez. Le estaba costando decidirse. Sabía que su familia se enfadaría mucho si dejaba a Pierre. Tenían vínculos comerciales con él y habían invertido bastante en su negocio de importación y exportación. Dejar a Pierre afectaría a mucha gente y causaría problemas en el negocio.

Dominique was writing everyday. He was a colonel in the French army stationed outside Paris. He was very handsome and in uniform he appeared very bold and powerful. Alberta had been attracted to him after they met at her niece's wedding three years ago. Dominique was a friend of the groom.

Alberta's life with Pierre was difficult. He drank quite a lot and engaged in extramarital affairs leaving Alberta alone much of the time. They did not have children. There was no intimacy in the marriage. It was a marriage of convenience. Alberta's marriage with Pierre had been arranged by her father and brothers and she had come with a large dowry. Something Pierre just couldn't refuse. It was a lonely, loveless marriage for Alberta.

And then there was Dominique. She felt alive again. No more lifeless, lackluster, boredom and loneliness. Her world was filled with color and music. It was spring all the time. Just his glance or the sound of his voice would send her spinning, her heart beating faster.

Dominique had written and was asking once again. "Leave Pierre and come with me. I will take care of you. I love you. "

Alberta had already written a few letters but each one when she reread it decided to tear it up. In the first one she wrote, "Yes, my beloved. I want this more than anything. I love you." But then she tore it up.

In the second one she wrote, "I love you, my dearest, but I am afraid of what will happen to Pierre, my family and the business." She tore that one up too.

Now this was her third time. She was having a difficult time deciding. She knew her family would be very angry if she left Pierre. They had business ties with him having invested quite a lot in his import export business. Leaving Pierre would affect a lot of people and cause problems with the business.

But then again... She was not happy. She felt she really didn't even have a husband. She was just part of a business deal.

She decided to go with Dominique. Love conquers all.
