Be Spiritually Minded!
Romans 8:6
KJV:For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
AMP:Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].
The above passage is a wakeup call to you and I, that to be carnally minded is death in itself. This is "because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be" (Roman 8:7).
For where the word of God proclaims blessings on you, the carnal mind gives in to doubt, for it looks at the present reality of life, while a spiritually minded person walks by faith and not by spirit
Naturally, the flesh is always in contention with the spirit man. That is why the Bible in Romans 12:2 admonishes us to "be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God". To be spiritually minded is to be" word minded ".
When you allow God's words have preeminence in your life, you can never fall away from the path of grace. The word of God is the mirror of God! It is supernatural, the compass of your spirit, soul and body.
You can live everyday in total victory and experience an unending stream of the miraculous as you learn to be spiritually minded at all times. As a force, operating in the supernatural, once you come in contact with what God has said concerning you, endorse it and immediately begin to act in accordance with that word irrespective of what your present condition might be.
That picture of what the word declares about you is what you must declare daily. For Hebrews 6:12 says, "be followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promise". This refers to those who through faith are spiritually minded. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David and other prophets of old are perfect examples of those who were spiritually minded and they had their promises and blessings in different dimensions.
You can be like the prophets of the old. You too can be like them; spiritually minded.
Turn to God and seek his face daily, study his word and walk according to it.
