¿Qué significa religión?
Conjunto de creencias religiosas, de normas de comportamiento y de ceremonias de oración o sacrificio que son propias de un determinado grupo humano y con las que el hombre reconoce una relación con la divinidad (un dios o varios dioses). Este es el concepto secular de religión. Source/Fuente
Es probable que en algún momento hayamos dicho que nosotros no seguimos una religión sino que tenemos una relación con el Dios verdadero, y eso en parte es verdad, estamos en el mundo, pero no somos del mundo, y nuestra fe es esa dimensión que incluye cuestionamientos sobre el significado, propósito y sentido de la vida. Sin embargo el mismo Pablo menciona “la religión verdadera”, así que negar que el cristianismo es una religión parte un poco del emocionalismo.
Muchas veces nos complicamos tanto en sobresalir en un pulpito como predicador, o en el servicio de adoración, que vemos como se confunde adoradores con cantantes y se crea una competencia de quien canta mejor, como se improvisa la alabanza con palabrerío rebuscado, con la intensión de impresionar a los presentes, donde la manifestación del Espíritu Santo es forzada, actitudes de: mírame soy el o la preferida de los ancianos, soy indispensable siempre me toman en cuenta. Menospreciando al hermano, eso es endiosamiento y lo digo con vergüenza, cuánto daño se le ha hecho a la iglesia. Nos falta tanta humildad para dejarnos guiar por el Espíritu de verdad. Muchas veces pretendemos agradar a Dios y terminamos preparando un Show.

What does religion mean?
A set of religious beliefs, norms of behavior and ceremonies of prayer or sacrifice that are specific to a given human group and by which man recognizes a relationship with the divinity (a god or several gods). This is the secular concept of religion. Source/Fuente
It is likely that at some point we have said that we do not follow a religion but that we have a relationship with the true God, and that is partly true, we are in the world, but we are not of the world, and our faith is that dimension that includes questions about the meaning, purpose and sense of life. However, Paul himself mentions "the true religion", so denying that Christianity is a religion is part of emotionalism.
Many times we get so complicated in standing out in a pulpit as a preacher, or in the worship service, that we see how worshippers are confused with singers and a competition of who sings better is created, how the praise is improvised with stilted words, with the intention of impressing those present, where the manifestation of the Holy Spirit is forced, attitudes of: look at me, I am the favorite of the elders, I am indispensable, they always take me into account. Belittling the brother, that is deification and I say it with shame, how much damage has been done to the church. We lack so much humility to let ourselves be guided by the Spirit of truth. Many times we pretend to please God and end up preparing a show.
