Primero que nada Saludarle y desearles que tenga un feliz maravilloso día a todas las personas. Felicitar a todos y todas los integrantes de esta ilustre comunidad cristiana e invitarles para que todos juntos nos coloquemos en comunión con nuestro padre celestial.

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: “Han oído ustedes que se dijo: Ama a tu prójimo y odia a tu enemigo. Yo, en cambio, les digo: Amen a sus enemigos, hagan el bien a los que los odian y rueguen por los que los persiguen y calumnian, para que sean hijos de su Padre celestial, que hace salir su sol sobre los buenos y los malos, y manda su lluvia sobre los justos y los injustos.

Porque, si ustedes aman a los que los aman, ¿qué recompensa merecen? ¿No hacen eso mismo los publicanos? Y si saludan tan sólo a sus hermanos, ¿qué hacen de extraordinario? ¿No hacen eso mismo los paganos? Sean, pues, perfectos como su Padre celestial es perfecto”. Palabra del Señor.

La Alianza es, ante todo, una libre elección que tiene su origen en un proyecto divino. Es el amor lo que ha llevado al Señor a estrechar un singular pacto de amistad con su pueblo Israel, por el que Él se compromete a ser «su» Dios.

El pueblo elegido, por su parte, se ha comprometido también a considerar a su Señor y Creador como su «único» Dios. De esta forma se empeñará en observar fielmente sus mandamientos, en ajustarse a sus sabios designios y en caminar por sus caminos con una adhesión espontáneo y fiel.
Jesús nos presenta, con la última de las “contraposiciones” del «sermón de la montaña», algo que se nos antoja humanamente imposible: «Amen a sus enemigos».

Nuestro Divino Maestro declara superada así nuestra tan usual y frecuente división de las personas en amigos y enemigos. Para quien ama –a su estilo y con la radicalidad con que Él lo hizo– ya sólo habrá hermanos, hijos todos del mismo Padre Bueno, que a todos nos llama a ser sus imitadores y «que hace salir el sol sobre buenos y malos y manda su lluvia sobre justos e injustos».
