Let's Beware of Promises

The bible says in Matthew 5:37 that our speaking should be Yes, yes; nerd; because what is more of this, it comes from evil. This should always be present in us, because by talking too much then we suffer the consequences.

Many promise and then regret it, because the bible does not lie, then the correct thing would be that whenever we speak, we keep our word so that we do not have to go around making promises that can cost us too much to fulfill them.

In the bible we find a story that should be a great example from now on for us, the daughter of chief, captain of the Israelites.

In Judges Chapter 11 from verses 30 to 39 we can read the story, of how the boss made a promise to God if he would grant him victory, but then when he returned when he understood what that promise would cost him, he tore his clothes and was saddened, because it was his only daughter that he had to deliver as a sacrifice.

Of course, the boss and his daughter gave a wonderful example because although they felt pain they did not stop fulfilling their promise, however with this we must learn that taking vows without thinking carefully about what it means to keep them is not good.

And much less if God is not demanding it, however when you have already promised it, you must fulfill it.

Numbers 30: 2
When anyone makes a vow to Jehovah, or takes an oath, binding his soul with obligation, he will not break his word; he will do according to all that came out of his mouth.

Beloved, let's take care of our words, let's learn to control our tongue, let's think before we speak, this will prevent us from commenting on mistakes that we can later regret or will prevent us from suffering without reason. What God wants from you is in his word and if he would have to ask for something in particular, he would do it without the need for you to make offers just out of emotions or without thinking fully.
