Talking to myself
God in His infinite wisdom has left the Holy Scriptures to serve as a guide for us to reach the purpose for which we have been created, which is to be eternally with Him.
Yesterday when I was studying the word of God with my family I was struck by the fact that there is a command to stimulate and encourage one another to go forward. (Hebrews 10:24)
We can all get discouraged at some point (it is part of our earthly nature) but there are two solutions to this problem. The first is for someone to come along and encourage us, the second is to encourage ourselves.
An example worthy of admiration is found in Psalm 103. The writer is speaking to himself (the spirit is using the body to speak to the soul).
In verse 2 he gives the secret for us to face discouragement, that is to remember all the benefits that God has granted us.
I have always said that God has done great things for humanity collectively and with each individual in particular (read the whole psalm and tell me if you don't feel identified).
But as the days go by we seem to forget all those good things that God does for us and when the bad moment comes we get upset with God quickly.
The solution is in Psalm 103, imagine that someone secretly looked out the window and watched as a man talked to himself telling his soul to bless God and reminding him of all that God does for him.
When people look at a person talking to himself they may judge and say that he is crazy, but remember that the soul perceives through the 5 senses of the body and if your mouth says it through your ears the message will reach your soul, if you just think it will have no effect.
This is the best solution when it becomes tiresome to seek and thank God, when you have not thanked Him for what He does in your life, to avoid becoming ungrateful children it is advisable every day to remember all that He has done for us and to bless His name.
If you don't know how to do it don't worry, when you wake up every day take your bible and read out loud Psalm 103, make this a daily practice until you can give thanks with your own words reminding yourself of all that God has done for you.
Grateful to God for allowing me to be part of HEARTCHURCH, a community with a divine purpose, for having allowed me to get to steemit and for all those great friends that I have met on this platform.
