What does your heart pants for?
As the deer pants for the water my soul pants for the Lord. He alone is my strength so if I pants for earthly things I will loose my strength and become weak like Samson after his hair was cut off, help me Lord so I don't become weak to the flesh.
Psalms 42:1-2 (Amplified Bible)
As the hart pants and longs for the water brooks, so I pant and long for You, O God.
2 My inner self thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God?
Do you even long for God at all? or all you do is to run to Him when you need help and start crying requesting and seeking for help and immediately the help comes, boom you disappear and continue with your dubious life. A true believer is supposed to long and be spiritually thirsty for the things of God and not only thirsty for food or the things of the world.
What is destroying the believers of today is that you spend more times on unprofitable things that are not kingdom minded and at the end you expect a different result, you expect the holy ghost to decern on you when you are in God's presence to worship Him.
How will you spend time in gossiping with your friends and give God just a minute of your life and you think your heart is panting for God.
Today, we hear gospel ministers sing great songs with no impact in it, no spiritual flow at all yet they feel they are spirit feel.
As a believer, when was the last time, you sat down personally to study your Bible and hear God speak to you alone? When was the last time you fasted? When was the last time you stop requesting for earthly amenities and seem the kingdom first?
Believers, rise up, the world needs true believers today who are thirsty for the word of God.
I love the way message Bible put it:
A white-tailed deer drinks from the creek; I want to drink God, deep draughts of God.
2 I'm thirsty for God-alive. I wonder, "Will I ever make it-- arrive and drink in God's presence?"
Drink God today, if you don't want to drink God, my brethren I want to drink God deeply because the days are evil and it is only those who drink God that will survive it so drink God.
your heart should pants for God alone in this perilous time brethren.
