Make God's word the foundation of your family

Dear friend of the community. May God continue to bless your life and family. Recently, we have been sharing a series of topics related to the family, which is precisely due to the chaotic situation we have been living through due to the world economic crisis and the health emergency, product of the pandemic, which directly affects the family in general and its environment.
The important thing in all this is to understand that if our family has as its foundation the counsel of God, we will certainly emerge stronger in the midst of the adverse circumstances that occur in family life. It is good to remember the teaching that the Lord Jesus gave to his disciples, when he spoke to them about the man who built his house on the rock and the other man who built it on the sand. The one who built on the rock got the better part of the teaching, because he took the wise words of the Lord as the foundation for his house.

Whoever therefore hears these words of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it did not fall, because it was founded on the rock. But whosoever heareth these words of mine, and doeth them not, I will liken him unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, and it fell: and great was the fall of it, and great was the fall of it. The house certainly represents our own family and the words of the Lord are precisely that foundation on which our family should stand. The wise words of God are the Christian principles and values, in which our family should conduct itself, in order to have the necessary support for the crucial moments of trials and challenges that come to the family. God in his word teaches us how we should handle ourselves in marriage, in marital communication and with our children. God's word teaches us how we should discipline our children without provoking them to anger and without them falling into the realm of rebellion. If we seriously consider the word of God to walk with our family in society and its challenges, surely, we will be successful in every situation that comes our way, because everyone who fears God, the Lord blesses him and gives him the victory.
The Lord Jesus told his disciples that it was necessary to hear his word and then do it. This implies that if we treasure the word of God and do it, we will see in our family, happy days in difficult times.

What happens when our family is on the foundation of the word of God and problems come? The Lord Jesus teaches that no matter how many strong problems like storms and hurricane winds come upon the family, it will not suffer damage, simply because its great foundation is Christ, who represents the wise word to come out of the difficulties with intelligence. It does not matter if the hurricane winds blow against your marriage or against your relationship with your children, in those difficulties, the Lord will give you the wisdom to solve those intense problems. When we handle ourselves wisely in our relationship with God, we can fear nothing because the Lord will help us to come out victorious in the midst of all the problems and adversities that arise in the family.

When the family has its foundation in Christ and his words, difficult situations can be resolved by taking into account God and his advice related to the problem. However, when a family lives ignoring God and his word, things become extremely difficult and everything ends in chaos or major crisis. When we were in the world without God and without hope, things in the family were so terrible, that the most that provoked us, was to run away, because everything was hell in the family. Conflicts and fights were daily and the situation with the children was uncontrollable. All this happened adversely, because we ignored God, but, now, everything is different, because having Christ and knowing His word, we have a great treasure of wisdom to solve family problems. Let us not forget that if we ignore the words of the Lord, we will be foolish and our family will be built on emptiness or sand.

But whoever hears these words of mine and does not do them, I will liken him to a foolish man who built his house on the sand. "Matthew 7: 26"

Why are there so many destroyed families in society? Simply, because they walk away from God and consider that on their own, they can solve their problems. When we do not have the biblical principles as a shield for the defense of the family, certainly, we are an open target for the enemy, who is in charge of destroying family ties as he did in the beginning of creation, to break the bonds and friendship that God had with Adam and Eve. Then, he brought death among the first brothers in the human race, as was the case of Cain when he killed his brother Abel. This teaches us that if our family is built without the foundation of God, we will be opening our arms to the enemy to bring division and destruction to the family.
