A divine appointment for the heart of a worshipper // Una cita divina para el corazón de un adorador by @carluis777
Juan 4: 23 RVR1960
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father also seeks such worshipers to worship him.
John 4: 23 NKJV1960.
Tómate solo un momento y lee Juan 4.
Take just a moment and read John 4.
Most believers adopt it as an essential act, it has an important role in our liturgy in our congregations, not to mention the use in countless congresses and large gatherings arousing curiosity and passion, religions around the world claim to have the right way of how to do it. I am talking about the worship of God.
Worshipping God has become perhaps a subject that we consider so well known among us where forms and models of how to do it have arisen obviating the true and most important thing, there is only one way and this begins in Him and ends precisely in Him. Only our heavenly Father knows how to recognize those true worshipers and He Himself is in charge of tracing the path and how to follow it, today the same divine appointment that the Samaritan woman had without knowing it is the same invitation that heaven extends to us today, this is an appointment for a frank and sincere conversation, where the arguments full of prejudices open the way to the wonderful miracle of being satiated for a new way of life that will have repercussions in the eternal.
Already the old Jerusalem, its streets and every corner were witnesses of the noble work of the Messiah, the people received the unexpected visit of the One who with his profound sayings showed a different way of living, each of the parables told had the virtue of overthrowing the criteria that only the arduous years of study of the Torah could leave in the teachers of the law, but in turn had the grace for the child to understand him without question.
Juan 4: 3-4
And he went out of Judea, and departed again into Galilee. And it was necessary for him to go through Samaria.
John 4: 3-4
Something was already plotted from eternity, there was a pending appointment scheduled from heaven, in the sovereign itinerary of the Father there was a matter to resolve, the Son of God used to speak to multitudes decided to go to a peculiar place to have an appointment out of the ordinary, a necessary meeting for a woman with a wrong life and her discriminated place of origin, the Father needed to make something clear and who better than the Son of God the legal representative of his Kingdom here on earth to do that job, What was about to happen would transcend to our modern times, this is one of the most frank and honest conversations in which we can be witnesses, although perhaps it was brief but with enough charge of hope for us to participate more than two thousand years later, that day heaven extended the invitation to all those who decide to reciprocate.
The Samaritan woman as usual went to the place where she and her people always frequented, the so-called Jacob's well. Jesus as usual goes out to meet her, just as he did with many of us. The woman, not knowing God's intentions, never imagined that he would return with something new for her life, the coordinates that true worshipers will need in their journey through this life would be revealed to her.
The conversation begins with a small request from the Messiah, he wanted some water, immediately begins an exchange of criteria about the water offered by Jacob's well and the water of eternal life that only the Son of God can give, everything was going as planned in eternity, Jesus' intention was to dispel the doubts leaving the way clear, many generations would depend on this conversation and all that was about to be revealed.
Suddenly the peculiar frankness that only Jesus can have emerges.
Ve, llama a tu marido, y ven acá. Juan: 4: 16
Go, call your husband, and come hither. John: 4: 16
The woman's response moved my heart and surely even more God's heart as she was totally sincere and recognized her condition, this act unleashes the mercy that God promises on those who confess and recognize their own sin, I think you understand what I mean. God continues as planned with the Samaritan woman and lets her know so many other things that He knows about her, the Samaritan woman says: "Lord, it seems to me that you are a prophet" suddenly the reason for this conversation emerges, the central point that Jesus wanted to reveal to this woman and to all of us.
Where to worship, on this mountain or in Jerusalem, where should we worship? God managed to encapsulate in a small dose of history a truth as big as the universe itself available to all of us who were forgiven and reached by sheer grace and mercy.
Jesus declares:
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth: for the Father also such worshippers seeketh to worship him. John 4: 23
Did you see the lure? it is not about a physical space or a specific place, it is that the Father himself is in charge of looking for those who are true, these do not qualify by their own merits, but if there is something peculiar that will dispose the attention of the Father in favor of them.
Hay dos requisitos para adorar, ¿lograste captarlo? Permíteme recordártelo, espíritu y verdad.
There are two requirements to worship, did you get it? Let me remind you, spirit and truth.
In Spirit: To walk in the spirit is to have a life above the natural, a life superior to what this world and its corrupt system offers. did you understand? To put aside my pleasures and my error to drink the water that produces the life of God, that is, to live in the way that pleases the Father.
In Truth: It is to have the ability to hide nothing before Him, to honestly recognize our condition and that He alone is enough for me and for you. Just as the woman of Samaria did not hide her condition by being sincere, God expects the same from us.
He knows how to recognize where a true worshipper is. It is not the one who sings beautifully or the one who is virtuous with his instrument, it is not the one with great virtues, it is the one who with a life full of defects decides to be sincere before God without hiding anything and ready to surrender his life.
A great thinker once said: To worship is to awaken the conscience with the holiness of God, to nourish the mind with His truth, to cleanse the imagination with His beauty, to open the heart to His love by dedicating the will to Him.
The invitation still stands waiting for those hearts willing to expose themselves to Him with no intention of hiding anything. He alone is worthy of our adoration.
Excelente hermano! Bendiciones
