🗣️HOW THE KNOWLEDGE OF YOUR ORIGIN CAN HELP YOU NAVIGATE THE NEW YEAR💫

TEXT: John 1:1-9

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.2 The same was in the beginning with God.3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

TIMELESS TRUTH: Jesus is the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. John 1: 9.

INTRODUCTION
There are mysteries of origin you need to correctly decode before you can live a meaningful and fulfilling life. Some of these mysteries are beyond the scope of man's intelligence and understanding since they predate your birth and human existence. Science may not be of sufficient help in this matter since scientists can only explore what has been in existence and not something before existence. Man need revelation in order to decode some important mysteries. God has given man that revelation in His word. God has decided to leave some gaps in His revelation for man, scientists and philosophers to decode. Chief of these mysteries is what we have in our text. It reveals your origin which will help you to know the purpose of your existence, and the true Source of your happiness and fulfilment in life. Let us tread carefully and soberly this holy ground of revelation in the text which you can not find outside the word of God because it predates the existence of all creations.

1. The fathomless Jesus
Who is this Jesus?
a. "In the beginning was the Word" v1. The Word has been existing from the origin of God Himself. That origin is dateless past and nobody knows, and God never revealed it to anyone. Since we have a finite mind and His origin is infinite, there is no human language that can describe it to man.
b. "The Word was with God", v2. The Word, being with God, is distinct and separate from God mentioned in the text. Yet there is a mystery there. Word is a product of thoughts, and you cannot separate yourself from your thoughts and word. This shows clearly that God and the Word of God, though separate entities cannot be separated. They think the same way and speak the same thing. Who is this Word?
c. That Word is Jesus Christ as the text shows that Christ is being referred to. He is God, not a lesser God, distinct personalities, co-equal and inseparably co-existing with God.
d. For emphasis, "the SAME was in the beginning with God", v2. The same Jesus that was with God from origin is the same that appeared on the planet earth and is the same that we are waiting to live with in eternity.
e. The humanity of Jesus did not make Him a lesser God. Rather it gives Him additional credentials and experience which God the Father and God the Holy Spirit do not have.

2. The fatherhood of Jesus
a. "ALL things were made by Him" v2. He created the angels, including Lucifer who transformed into Satan. No wonder, the devils tremble and flee at the mention of the name of Jesus. If the angels, including Lucifer, were privy to how Jesus created man, Satan could have stolen that knowledge. Praise God he can only corrupt but not create because he does not know how. Jesus created everything visible and invisible including, You. Can you think a little and ponder on the fact that Jesus created you and that you are not a child of accident?

Question
a. If Jesus created you, is He qualified to be your Lord and Saviour for life?
b. If Jesus created you, is it not arrogance arguing with His word?
c. If Jesus created you and you are in Christ, Who should you fear: Jesus or Satan the master of witches and wizards?
d. "In Him was life", v2. He is the Author and Giver of life, both natural and spiritual. All creatures are living on a loaned life. He only has the final power to take it, not even Satan talk less of man. So the boast of the enemy to take your life is vain if you are in Christ.

Questions
a. Does it appear your natural life is going off at an unripe age? Jesus is the answer, turn to Him. He is the only Giver of lige👌
b. Do you need more abundant life in your inner man and be strong spiritually? Jesus has the answer right now 👏

3. The forerunner called John
a. For man not to mistakenly pick a false person as Jesus, God prophesied about a forerunner called John, vv6,7.
b. In order for any man to avoid underrating the man of Galillee as God in human flesh, John the Baptist actually and perfectly fulfilled the prophesy. So "this same JESUS" is the true God and the Jews have no tenable excuse to believe and accept Him. Check Isaiah 40:3-5 for the prophesy.

3. The followership of Jesus
There are sublime other truths in this text which is often ignored.
a. Jesus is the Author of Life, both natural and spiritual, and that life is the light of men, v3. That means Jesus is the light of men. Right? Man will be in complete darkness about God and how to be guided and live this life successful and enter heaven without Jesus Christ👌
There is no alternative to Jesus for anybody who wants to know the truth, live the truth and abide in the truth. Yes. Just Jesus alone with no addition.
b. Jesus is the Author of Life and Source of Light. That Light lights every man that comes into the world with life, v9. What does this infer?
c. Every person that is born into this world receives life for existence from Christ. No human baby is a child of accident. The life each foetus receives come from Jesus, without which there is nothing like a child.
d. The secret that unlocks the happiness and success of man unto eternity is to surrender to Jesus and be His followers in everything from now and forever more. Anything different from that is based on wilful ignorance or deliberate stubbornness🤷‍♂️

Questions
a. Have you realised now Who is Jesus? Your Creator, Lord and Saviour.

Prayer points
Lord, I accept you as the Owner of my life, my soul and my everything. I give you worship as my Lord and Saviour🙏
Lord, I accept you as the Light of my life. I surrender to your guidance throughout this year. Never leave me alone to myself throughout this year 🙏
Father, give me more revelation of Jesus by the Holy Spirit🙏
Lord, help all brethren to have the revelation of their origin and to fully submit to God's guidance🙏
