Introduction

Greetings cryptoacademy, its a great privillege to be able to participate in this study about dApps. I appreciate prof @wahyunahrul for making out time to give a detailed explanation of this even to the level of a layman. To complete this task I will be answering question 1.

What are dApps?

DApps is an abbreviation of decentralized application. And it entails a computer software/ application that is autonomous and void of central control, instead it adopts the form of peer-to-peer network and compensate its users with rewards.

The peer-to-peer network of dApps is the means whereby it ensure portected, smooth anf safe transactions. Each user in the network contributes and there is no form of restriction from a central body

Due to the decentralized nature of dApps, information or transactions carried out is been stored in the blockchain and can't be accessed by any other person.

Explain the working system of dApps

DApps as a computer application which operates on blockchain network, can only be access when connected to the internet. The use of smart contract in dApps helps take records of transactions performed on the blockchain.

The role of third party in dApps is eliminated by the use of peer-to-peer, and transaction fees are paid with the blockchain's token.

What are the difference between dApps and other apps?

For clarity purpose, i will be using a table to outline the differences.

Explain the advantages and disadvantages of dApps

For everything that have an advantage there is also some disadvantages. The main question is, which is greater, the advantage or the disadvantages?

Advantages

• Due to its decentralized state,dApps ensures autonomy of user information.
• Since it is void of third party, there is no restriction to a user's activity.
• It is likely impossible for information in dApps to be stolen because it is stored on the blockchain.
• Due to dApps association with blockchain, there is high level of security.

Disadvantages

• Smart contracts and open-source nature of dApps make them vulnerable to hackers more especially weak dApps.
• Due to the complexity of blockchain, dApps are not easy to access.
• Basic knowledge of the computer is required for a user to be able to access dApps.
• Risk of loosing fund via wrong transactions that cannot be retrieved.
• Adaptation to dApps interface can be very frustrating especially to new users.

How can dApp developers promote their apps? Different projects have different ways of promoting them, same is applicable to dApps. Some of the ways dApps can be promoyed include;

• DApp developers can use of social media to promote their apps by running advertisement.
• sharing airdrops of the token can also play a vital role in the promotion of a dApp.
• The role of promoters like dappradar, dappbang, dapp100 is very vital in promotion of dapps.

What should we pay attention to while using dApps?

Important information we should pay attention to while using dApp includes;

• Autonomy: it is quite unfortunate that not all dApps are decentralized and to that effect they may be used for scamming.
• Some are not really dapps but they lay in disguise of dapp to be used in extorting money from people. And without thorough research we may fall victim of their scam.

How do we find information of a dApp that we want to know? Provide the steps (screenshots required).

To find information about a dApp, there are steps you need to follow they are;

• Step 1: navigate into dApps official website which is https://dappradar.com/ below is what the overview looks like

• Step 2: the page gives you an outline of top ranking dApps. As seen below

Step 3: for you to derive details of any dapp you will have to check into the small colon and use the search botton that is if the dapp is not showing. Lets take steem as an example

And immediately i clicked on the steemit dapp. Below is the required information.
