Background

The Homework Task Week-5(Season 2) draws to a close on 15th May 2021. During the last week, we witnessed as many as 43 entries.

I would like to congratulate all who participated and submitted their assignments during this week.

This week we covered-- Bandwidth & Energy in Tron Network and its consumption in different types of transactions. I hope you all now have a better insight into the practical side of consumption of Bandwidth & Energy, particularly how to avoid burning of TRX.

Those who participated this week in Homework Task-5 are well-informed now with Energy requirements in a smart contract operated transaction in JustLend, Justswap, etc, and how it varies from one smart contract to the other, and how it also depends on the type of function.

In the previous assignment, we observed many of you burned a lot of TRX and even ended up with a failed transaction, so this session was paramount to save you from the failed transactions, and also to save your TRX.

I hope Week 5 was productive, persuasive, informative, and educative for you all.

Steemit Crypto Academy is helping you all to bridge the gap between concept and gaining experience, particularly for naive users; thereby inducing practical intelligence. The tasks are designed & structured in a way to make you familiar with a practical exploration of a use-case. In essence, you gain real experience, and you earn as well in Steemit Crypto Academy.

I would like to convey my gratitude to the Steemit Team for coming up with such an idea and organizing a team for that cause, fostering crypto literacy.

In the last six days, I have visited all the posts that have been submitted with the correct tag( #sapwood-s2week5, #cryptoacademy). So I would request all the participants to make sure that they use the correct tags and that should be among the first five tags. And also make sure you post in the Steemit Crypto Academy community.

Observation & Thoughts

We found 43 entries in the last week(Week-5). I have visited them all. 97.6% of them were original content whereas 2.4% were spun/plagiarized. So we finish this week on a positive note as the number of spam/plagiarism cases has dropped significantly.

This week was purely a practical exploration of Bandwidth & Energy in Tron Network to make you familiar with the practical implication of a transaction's cost. A computation model always reflects the true cost of a transaction and offers a better choice than fee-based transaction cost in other Blockchains.

Those who have performed a real transaction in this Task have scored well to get an upvote that would cover the fees(or TRX burned to accommodate the required Energy) they incurred in the entire process. Nevertheless, all of you have gained first-hand information and experience with the computational resource model.

The simple average score for Week 5 (#sapwood-s2week5) is "6.77"

The average overall quality has improved as compared to the previous week. But we have to do a lot more to bring it to par value.

Organized writing and a curated directory of organized articles on the Trending page will also add fundamental value to Steem Blockchain & Steemit Crypto Academy. It's a continuous process and we must evolve as organized authors every day/every week through such Tasks/assignments.

This week we observed that a few participants used more than one wallet address in this Task. That always creates confusion. So I would request all of you to use one wallet. If you don't have sufficient funds in one wallet, then you can transfer it from the other wallet and then use it for the Task(please note that transferring TRX is absolutely free of cost in Tron Network).

Always go through the rules/guidelines/deadline before submitting your assignment.

I would like to highlight a few areas which need to be addressed.

  • In a practical task, you always have to provide a lot of screenshots. At times your article becomes heavy and too noisy. So you should always capture a screenshot that is really needed for the subject, neither too much, nor too little. You should crop and adjust the outer edges so that it brings the attention of the readers and becomes clearly visible & readable.

  • Always outline and emphasize the specific areas in a way that it takes less effort for the readers/curators to decipher.

  • If you are using different styling techniques, make it consistent with its style and color

  • Any watermark or your username on the screenshot should not be too big

  • Proper alignment of the screenshot always feels professional.

Further, I would also request our participants to avoid redundant words/sentences. Please note that an excessively lengthy post is always a turn-off, you might not score better with such an approach. Short, sweet, concise post always wins the attention, in Crypto academy, your approach should be to the merit of the Task, subject, and its requirement. Always try to be precise & make your approach straight to the point, make it less noisy.

I would also request, before hitting the submit button, please read it at least once/twice. Proof-reading is necessary. You can also use the Grammarly app for proof-reading.

The level of engagement is very poor. We want our participants to visit other's posts and produce insightful comments, make it an interactive session. At present only the professor is interacting with the participants. The student-to-student interaction is missing. We can't build an interconnected web and better content discovery without engagement. I request all of you to visit other's posts.in Steemit Crypto Academy.

Further, always pay attention to the grammar/spelling, proper formatting to highlight the key areas, use markdown styling to present it in a professional way, which always attracts the attention of the reader/curator. If you do that on a day-to-day basis you also evolve as a professional blogger in the long run.

Try to bridge the gap between "what you know" and "How you deliver" in a Task. In time, you will get better with consistent effort & perseverance.

Statistics & Evaluation

Here is the stat of the 43 entries in Homework Task-5(Season 2)

My First Board (41).jpg

Total Entries- 43

Spam/Plagiarism- Stealing other's text/screenshot and representing as if it is their own content. Using spinning tools & paraphrasing the texts of another post.

003.png

I have evaluated all the entries on the basis of the following parameters:-

  • Proper representation of a task
  • Whether covered all the sub-parts of an assignment or not
  • Real Transaction to demonstrate Bandwidth & Energy
  • Proper formatting
  • True representation of the text/subject(with illustration/screenshot)
  • Grammar/Spelling
  • Free of Spam/Plagiarism.
  • Adhering to the laid rules or not
  • Proof-Reading
  • Original content

Of the 43 entries, I found the following three as the best entries this week.

S NoAuthorPost LinkRemarks
1@kadabraLinkThe author has demonstrated with a real example and included all the relevant screenshots, also produced a well-organized post, in line with the requirement of the sub-parts.
2@dharampsLinkThe author has demonstrated the consumption of Bandwidth & Energy with real transactions, using TronLink Pro app & Tronscan. The screenshots produced by the author are outlined to emphasize the specific relevant parts.
3@damzxynoLinkAnother excellent piece by the author, very neat & clean presentation of the task, demonstrated with real examples. The author is very consistent with the flow & approach to the subject.

NB- Selection of a winner may not be absolute, most of the time, it is based on the relative performance. As long as you focus on all the sub-parts of Homework Task and gain sufficient user experience, include real example & analysis, you stand better to win it.

Conclusion

We all are committed to creating an enriched communication environment, organizational interactions, etc which is a precursor to building a foundation of crypto literacy. The right information and education should percolate down the line and the PoB will come along to reward you(extrinsic motivation).

We will try our best to structure a task to draw real-life experiences for you, to motivate you for sustained attention to the task/academy. The participants should also reciprocate in line with the Task requirement, particularly if it demands a real trade/transactions/experience. Healthy participation and effective discussion are key to the overall success of the crypto academy.

We will also try our best to reinforce the principle of collectivism/democracy (but always on the basis of performance) through the crypto academy.

The crypto academy is also an avenue to learn to reason and to find & explore the passions and talents of the users in this ecosystem.

Gain as much user experience as you can. But always be your own. Don't hesitate to write what you have understood(even if you are wrong), We will take care of corrections if needed. The most important thing at the end of the day is what you learned.

The take-home message-- Develop a relationship with dApp/Exchange(or as the Task demands), Learn, Experience, Perform a real Trade, Analyze; then submit your assignment. This is the ideal path to economic advantage(upvote) & crypto literacy.

Thank you.

I got a real experience by participating in the homework. This experience will prevent future mistakes.

Will the crypto academy courses continue next week or will they be suspended for a while?

As of now it is up & running. Stay tuned to Steemitblog for any such updates.

Thank you.

I appreciate being selected as one of the authors with the best entry. I'm looking forward to the next class.

You deserve it. Keep producing quality content, keep strengthening PoB.

Thank you.

Steem on.

Thank You Prof. I really appreciate it.

Thank You

You deserve it.

Thank you.

Excellent summary. Thanks for the comments and recommendations at the end of the article. Certainly the cryptoacademy promotes reasoning, and we must make the effort to put our own learning and the experience that we have had when carrying out the task.

Many greetings.

#affable

Thank you so much for reading the summary post. That is also important for the partakers to take cues and do better in the next task.

I appreciate it.
