Steemit Crypto Academy | Summary on the Fixed Beginner's Course| Season 3 Week 2|
Hello Steemians, I want to use this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in the 2nd week of the Beginner's Course. It was an amazing experience to witness the efforts and engagement of the students towards acquiring the knowledge of cryptocurrency.
Also, my sincere apologies to everyone whose post was reviewed late. Believe me, this is not how we planned it and we are working to ensure that the system is favorable to everyone.
The 2nd week of the Beginners Course ran from 28th June 2021 to 4th July 2021. Thanks to the team efforts of the beginners' tier professors @reminiscence01, @awesononso, @lenonmc21, and @wahyunahrul who all worked together to make this week lesson a success.
There were a total of 126 Entries in the 2nd week and the distribution of the tasks are as follows:

Note: Invalid entries can be due to the following reasons;
- Users who haven't completed achievement 4 level of the Newcomers' Achievement Program, Or old who have joined Steemit before the initiation of the Newcomers Achievement Program.
- Users who do not possess the minimum amount of Steem Power (SP) for this task, or users who are powering down.
- Users with a reputation less than 50.
- Users with farming accounts.
- Users who have been blacklisted for plagiarism, Or users who were banned for one reason or the other in Crypto Academy
The following marking scheme was deployed to grade the students' assignments;
- Presentation and Use of markdowns: presentation examined the overall structure of the answers, arrangements, sequence of answers, and method of approach. Use of markdowns ensured context arrangement in line with the Steem platform markdown instructions, use of proper elements for intended purposes.
- Compliance with the topic: Compliance with the topic guides the framework of questions given in the assignment, ensuring that answers correspond to questions given.
- Spelling and Grammar: Spelling and grammar ensure that a clear construct of grammatical structure, completeness of sentences, and all-round meaning is followed throughout the work.
- Quality of Analysis: Quality of Analysis ensured that various points raised in the analysis were vetted in line with the analysis of the questions.
- Originality: Originality of content examines the answers in avoidance of plagiarism. Ensured the use of references and citations in the picture, quotes, and other necessary areas.
Reference
- Plagiarized content refer to users who copied someone's else idea without referencing the origin source.
- Below average refer to grades below 5.
- Average refers to grades within 5 and 5.9
- Good refers to grades within 6 and 8.9
- Excellent refer to grades within 9 and 10.
- Invalid is for posts from users who are not eligible to perform the task.
Task 1 was covered by Professor @sapwood on the Basic introduction of Steem and Tron Ecosystem. There were a total of 24 entries for this task. The student's understanding of the lesson was tested with 3 questions where each user is required to answer just one question.
The general performance of Task 1 can be visualized in the pie chart below:
Observation:
- Majority of the Students answered question 1. Only a few attempted ** questions 2 and 3**.
- 71% of the students scored above 6, and this shows that the lesson was properly integrated into the students.
- There was confusion among the students between Curation and Upvotes. But the professors tried their best to clarify this confusion when reviewing the assignments.
- Majority of the students tried their best to answer the questions in their own words and a simple manner. But the majority of the students got lower grades due to poor poor writing skills and presentation.
- Also, most students did not answer the questions properly. I assumed they did not spend quality time to study the lesson before performing the tasks.
Task 2 was covered by Professor @yousafharoonkhan on Basic introduction to Blockchain, Decentralization, and Blockchain Explorer. There were a total of 27 entries for this task. The student's understanding of the lesson was tested with 3 questions where each user is required to answer just one question.
The general performance of Task 2 can be visualized in the pie chart below:
Observation:
- Majority of the students attempted question 2, while question 1 and 2 was almost ignored.
- The students proved their understanding of the lesson whereby 85% of the students scored above 6.
- There was confusion among students on the concept of Decentralised systems. Most students channel their understanding of decentralized systems on cryptocurrency projects. Whereas, a decentralized system can be seen or applied in many areas of life.
- Poor presentation and writing skills have been major problems for the students.
- Also, some students do not make their own research or spend quality time to read the lesson. This makes them produce poor content and score lower grades.
Task 3 was covered by Professor @stream4u on Bitcoin, Cryptocurrencies, and Public chains. There were a total of 28 entries for this task. The student's understanding of the lesson was tested with 3 questions where each user is required to answer just one question.
The general performance of Task 3 can be visualized in the pie chart below:
Observation
- Majority of the students attempted the 3 questions but there was a big engagement in the 2nd question.
- The student's performance was great in this lesson with 25% scoring above 9 and also, 43% of the students scored above 6.
- 21% of the students scored below average due to poor presentation and poor quality content. This can be as a result of not making further research on the lesson and also, not spending quality to perform the task.
Task 4 was covered by Professor @sapwood on Different Consensus mechanisms. There were a total of 21 entries for this task. The student's understanding of the lesson was tested with 3 questions where each user is required to answer just one question.
The general performance of Task 4 can be visualized in the pie chart below:
Observations:
- Majority of the students attempted question 1. Only a few attempted question 2, while question 3 was totally ignored.
- There was a good performance in task 4 with 19% of the students scoring above 9 and also, 48% of the students scored above 6.
- The students proved their understanding of PoW and PoS. Some of the students made their own research outside the lesson and thus, producing quality content.
- Only 9% scored below average due to the inability to read and understand the season before answering the questions.
Task 5 was covered by Professor @imagen on DEX, CEX, Popular Exchanges, and Trading Cryptos. There were a total of 16 entries for this task. The student's understanding of the lesson was tested with 3 questions where each user is required to answer just one question.
The general performance of Task 5 can be visualized in the pie chart below:
Observation
- In this section, the majority of the students focused on question 3. Only a few students attempted question 2, while question 1 was almost avoided.
- The students were able to demonstrate their understanding of DEX and CEX. 37% of the students score above 9, while 38% of them scored above 6.
- 19% of the students scored below average due to poor presentation and poor quality content. This can be as a result of not making further research on the lesson and also, not spending quality to perform the task.
Task 6 was covered by Professor @sapwood on Blockchain Wallets. There were a total of 10 entries for this task. The student's understanding of the lesson was tested with 3 questions where each user is required to answer just one question.
The general performance of Task 6 can be visualized in the pie chart below:
Observations:
- Majority of the students attempted question 1. Only a few students attempted question3, while question 2 was totally ignored.
- The students demonstrated their understanding of private keys and how to secure them.
- Question 1 was interactive as students answered the question from their experience with Blockchain wallets.
- From the lesson, the students learned that saving private keys offline is the best option as so many of them have been saving it online in Goggle cloud and also as a draft in their Gmail.

Recommendations
- Students are advised to spend quality time to read and understand the lesson before performing the homework task.
- Students are also advised to make their own research outside the lesson of the professor to understand the topic properly and submit quality content.
- Students are also encouraged to proofread their work and check for grammatical errors as this can reduce their grades. Grammarly can be helpful to check grammatical errors.
- A lot of students have poor writing skills and presentation. Students are encouraged to learn Markdown Basics to present their work neatly.
Conclusion
We are glad about the engagements of students this week. Though some students performed poorly, a good percentage were able to prove their understanding of the lessons. Similarly, plagiarized content was discovered and the defaulters were taken note of by the responsible authority.
