Crypto Academy Week-5 || Homework Post for @gbenga || Submitted by @josantos
Introduction
Hello guys,
I want to appreciate the professor in the person of @gbenga for these wonderful lecture delivered. Today we will be discussing all blockchain security. Security as we all know is one of the key factors any investor will want to get from any organisation. Before you go into any investment you will want to know how secure the enterprise is so that you don't lose your money to a fraudster.
Now coming back to security issues in blockchain, the major trait is on our wallet. You will agree with me that all our assets are been stored in the wallet hence the major target of security trait is the wallet. Since the wallet is most online stuff it is always open to some malicious activities.
More also, since we are operating on dApp I.e decentralised application, the entire blockchain is not been controlled by an individual hence anyone can write and introduce any link of his or her choice.
Just of recent there was these link that normally appears at the bottom of your page once you finish making any post on steemit platform and it will ask you to click on it, many that started clicking on it lost a whole lot of funds from it and then complain got to the managers of the platform which they said they link was not from them as such we should avoid clicking on such link.
Another is the insecurity involved in a crypto exchange where hackers have access to the exchange and steal all the funds. This has been a rapid problem in the cryptocurrency world. The rate at which hackers are targeting Cryptocurrency Exchange is shocking. As we all know once a transaction is carried out in the blockchain, reversing it is next to impossible hence our young men are in for the big deal these days.
This problem is the major problem that is been faced by the crypto world and if not handled in time, many people may die of a heart attack once they hear that their entire life savings have been hijacked by these people.
My suggestion is that Cryptocurrency Exchange should come together to decide on a solution to apply to reduce the huge rate of these activities taking place in the crypto space so that people will not be scared to invest in cryptocurrencies in the nearest future.
Conclusion
Always remember that your private key is meant only for you and should not be shared with anyone including any agent working in the agencies you are operating with. Furthermore, it's advisable not to click on any link you are not certain about.
