@yohan2on Today I bring you my homework from week 6, this topic of scams is something very important to know because it gives us the knowledge to prevent any type of eventuality similar to the one that has happened to many people.

1. What are Crypto scams?

They are adversities that we can face at any time that puts our crypto capital at risk, in crypto there are many methods of deception that are generated by malicious users who want to disorder an environment, for a cryptographic scam to be completed there must be a complete deception, which It works as a copied and false information that is equal to the true one, this makes users who do not have training on crypto, invest in something that does not exist.

Another form of deception occurs when users infect the network with malicious programs disguised as other programs that people generally use, for example a Works package, but that people do not download through their original websites or a simple photograph. it may be infected, an email, through a referral link.

Today's malicious users are interested in hiding as much as possible programs that can steal information from thousands of people.

Theft by infected files.

The theft by infected files is common when downloading programs, games, videos, entering advertisements from websites that we do not know anything about, can cause an automatic download of files that have an automatic installation and that can steal a lot of confidential information.

Theft by email.

It is when files from unknown people are accepted and when we open them our computer is infected.

Theft by fake websites.

Websites is something that we must be extremely aware of, it is undoubtedly the most common type of scam to see, since many users are guided to false pages that are identical to their original pages and when they enter the data, they are saved in the platform memory but does not give you access to the system.

Theft by applications.

Theft by applications is when applications with unknown origin are downloaded, through the play store, or another download platform, many times people create applications to enter data and this data is saved in a registry.

Theft by referral link.

The theft of information by referral link is also being very alarming, because many send referral links as an invitation and many times these links are invitations to fake pages.

Coincheck is a Japanese Exchange that was created in 2012 and put into operations in the market in 2014, due to its great methodology, trust, great work in the market, there were many who decided to invest in this exchange house.

In 2017 after his long career in the market, he began to appear on television news and social networks about his excellent work and the reliability that it generated, we know that reliability in Japan is the main thing, because in that country there are laws on cryptocurrencies and everything has to be based on established regulations, especially if Japan is one of the main countries with the largest flow of cryptocurrencies in the world.

Things were not looking good because in that same year a group of hackers had stolen an Exchange from that same country, the Exchange with the name of MtGox, where they extracted about 400 million dollars in bitcoins.

It was then that on January 26, 2018, the exchange house coincheck publicly revealed that it had suffered an attack where they stole about 523 million of a cryptocurrency with the name of NEM, this cryptocurrency was at that time on the list 10 of capitalization in the market, that amount would be equivalent to more than 530 million dollars, this news shook Japan.

The Exchange coincheck immediately blocked all cryptocurrency transactions with the exception of bitcoin, and an executive of the company announced that they had the address where the stolen NEMs were sent, in addition he rebels that the theft occurred because the Exchange used a simple Hot wallet to store their cryptocurrencies, and the hackers managed to reveal the private key of the wallet.

The Exchange placed itself at the command of Japan's regulators to support the search for its stolen NEMs, and established a payment margin in portions for its affected investors, where the authorities would closely monitor the payment method, it is not possible to know the number of users affected by this theft.

2. To what extent have Crypto scams affected the Crypto space?

They have affected to the point where a large part of the population lost credibility in cryptocurrencies, especially in the new altcoins that have come out in the market, now well whenever I hear about a new cryptocurrency in the market, I hear the word (insurance is false) right after announcing it, in addition to the fact that every time a handful of cryptocurrencies are stolen, they are sold and this generates congestion and a lot of traffic, especially in sales volume, this causes the cryptocurrency to go to the ground.

Scams have been an important point for investors to take precautions when deciding to invest in a cryptocurrency, and even more so if someone has lost a lot in a scam.

Scams have covered the crypto market many times and made significant changes in the price of many cryptocurrencies, now there are many investors who are afraid of investing in cryptocurrencies that may have a fall in the market because of a group of hackers that many Sometimes they have internal complicity of a platform to advance their plan.

In addition to that now every time someone mentions false news on the networks, it generates panic in users that causes chaos in the market.

3. Will regulations in Crypto add value to the Crypto space?

Crypto regulations often provide security according to the regulations that exist in each country, but this also has a negative side, because a large number of people want cryptocurrencies to be free trade, and that no one has the possibility of retain or maintain a series of regulations for the use of cryptocurrencies.

In several countries such as Europe and Asia there are several countries that have cryptocurrency regulations, in some they are regulated under national security entities, in others they are freely allowed and no one is responsible for loss or theft, and in other countries they are not legal. cryptocurrencies and cannot be traded.

In addition, cryptocurrency regulations have maintained a discontent in the population that thinks that regulations have control over cryptocurrencies, in many equations this is the case, but not in others.

The less a cryptocurrency is regulated, and is potentially safe, the cryptocurrency will have more value in the market than a regulated one, in my opinion the regulations bring with them a series of rules that can benefit the state.

Conclusión.

Cryptocurrencies will be a space where all of us will feel free to invest under our responsibilities and knowledge of the branch of cryptocurrencies, we will always see scams especially to people who are starting but unfortunately this will not stop, new methods of deception will continue to appear more Credible, however, mentioning the regulations is something relevant especially for certain cryptocurrencies that need it but to win market and volatility it is necessary that there are no regulations of any kind, since each of us is responsible for where we invest and how we keep it .
