Greetings everyone, I am privileged to be part of yet another exciting week of this season crypto academy and I am honored to take part in this week lesson of our great and noble professor in the person of professor @yohan2on. I hope to bring out the best of me.
Looking very well the task we have been given by our great professor for this week, it is taking our minds set to see how best the application of Blockchain will be of great help to the Health care systems or the industry we have.
In this world we find ourselves in, our health should be put first before any order thing or entity, for that matter we need to make sure that, the industry is put in a right shape so as to deliver the best service to it's clients.
The Industry makes it sure that, we humans are free from pandemic and epidemic diseases in cases of outbreaks, they also make sure that various researches are made in order to find problems of any happening related to health of humans.
This makes the work load of various workers or individuals involved in the health industry have very difficult to handle. Since the deal with large numbers of information of humans or individuals. Some of these information turn to get missing and also handled carelessly. But when there is a technology system like the Blockchain been implemented, it will go in a long way to help mange various dealings activities that goes on in the industry since everything will be organized correctly.
Some of these difficulties includes;
- The System Requires a lot of funds for it's operation. That is, the technology that is used in the operation it's expensive to come by since it is the advance type of technology and therefore very difficult to purchase not to talk of it's maintenance.
- Safe keeping of the data records of various clients that do visit a health facility is not an easy task. In doing that, the records are not to be shared in such a way that, there should be some level of privacy involved. But however, the system operation which is spear headed by an authority demands certain payments for the safe keeping of these records of various clients that do visit the health facilities. This makes it even more difficult to safe keep these records and also make regular updates of them.
- As states earlier, the system operates on a centralized criteria therefore it needs permission before one can gain the opportunity to get to various stored information. Therefore in a case of an emergency and permission isn't granted at a quick time, it will lead to serious calamities.
However, with the adoption of Blockchain to the Health care industry, all these would be a thing of the Past and these are the reasons why it is so
Blockchain which we all know to be a decentralized based technology that has made various storage of information or data very simple and easy. It high level of security can't be compared to any other technology we have in this world. Not forgetting the fact that, records or data that are been saved on the Blockchain technology are the safest and one does not need any permission before gaining access to them. Lastly, it is a very cheap and affordable technology type.
Moving further, when the Blockchain Technology is implemented or adopted to the Health care Industry, it will help raise the standards of the industry and also bring solutions to various difficulties faced by the technology system in which the health industry brought about.
In the Blockchain, various information or data in saved in forms of nodes which can be easily accessed at any point in time. Also, there is a high level of security with the presence of the cryptographic algorithm which is the hash functions, this ensures the great amount of security and the data stored can't be altered by any outlier. Therefore, when implemented in the Health care industry it will make use of the data of various clients that visit the health facility and will make it available for the health workers at any point in time.
Let's take a look at how Blockchain will be Implemented in the Health Care Industry and the benefits it will bring into existence

As we know from previous as to how data is stored in Blocks in the Blockchain technology, the same criteria can be applied in the health care industry. That is, various records of data of patients that do visit a particular health facility can be stored in the blockchain in forms of blocks. By so doing, the health workers can make good use of these data at any point in time when the need arises. That is, they won't have to manually go through huge sums of folders in order to know the records of the individual. Maybe the last time the fellow visited the facility and the disease treated and so on. This will ease the work load in terms of getting patient's data records since they are safely stored in the Blockchain and are safe and can be accessed at any point in time.
The Blockchain system if implemented or applied will make it very simple to get access to information of any health facility before visiting that particular health facility. That is, the patient will be able to tell which health worker is on duty and the time he or she will leave, it can also be determined as to the various gadgets used in the facility. Also, the health workers can be able to know the health status of their patients by simply using their private to decrypt the information given that it when the patient shares his or her public key with the health worker. This will make communication very fast and secured in such way that, the patient and the health worker won't have to schedule a lot of meetings just to see each other but rather can be done on the Blockchain technology.
In the health care industry we find ourselves of late, they are a lot of fake drugs and also fake medical gadgets circulating. Most of these is causing deaths in certain areas. Also, there are situations where by the supply of drugs be it fake or not do not reach the required destination. That is they are been sent somewhere else which isn't the right direction or place. However, when the technology of Blockchain is implemented the happening of such events will be a thing of the past. That is, since in the Blockchain technology, when certain transaction data is recorded they can't be changed by any individual and for that matter it will serve as proofs in case such a situation should occur. That is to say, applying various technologies of Blockchain will be able to help check certain supply chain in the health care industry.
In the Blockchain, there is an existence of smart contracts in which instructions are easily given out. That is, these software programs are designed to give out instructions simply and easy and response given. By so happening, if this technology is been implemented in the Health care system, getting the data with regards to various happenings in the facility will be very simple and easy. One will just have to make a request b giving out instructions with the use of the smart contracts and any data needed will be made available. Be it the patients record of drugs taken and so on, they will be made available once the instruction is given out.
As we know, the day by day work of various health workers deals with research. That is, in getting the cause of various disease or maybe a condition of a patient. Therefore, with the application or implementation of Blockchain technology, the making of research will become great since all the data of various disease will be made available. Since they are already safely saved in the chain of network and can't be changed.
As it stands now we have certain Blockchain technologies which are currently running smoothly. Some of them are:
FarmaTrust: This technology checks drugs which are fake and harmful to the human system and are found in the industry. That is, with regards to the supply chain it is able to check fake drugs and that of wrong medical equipment.
Patientory: This project deals with the medical records of patients and health workers in the industry. This is made possible all through an app which contains every detailed data records of health workers and patients.
MedicalChain: This technology or project of the Blockchain deals with safe keeping of data records of every health related entity. That is, with regards to all medical record data, the medical chain has a keep of them.
The Health care industry Plays a very vital role in the life's of we humans and hence must be given the required attention. By so doing, the implementation of adoption of the Blockchain into the Healthcare industry will bring a lot of great benefits to us all. Such as easy access to dat and making good use of it, great level of security and so on.
Also, there will be easy communication between the workers and the patients by the decryption and encryption of various data with the private and public keys used. The level of privacy will therefore increase since the data or information communicated can't be accessed by all. Blockchain if adopted to the health care industry will be a great deal to us all and will help increase the level of our health care delivery.
