Avalanche Blockchain - Crypto Academy /S5W8 - Homework Post for Pelon53
Hello everyone, it's a great lecture given by Prof. @pelon and I am happy to take part in the lecture.
1.- Explain in detail X-Chain, C-Chain and P-chain.
Avalanche is simply a smart contact platform which was built to be fast, scalable and as well be highly customizable. This platform supports the Ethereum virtual machine, network level programmability and also non-fungible tokens.
The Avalanche blockchain does not require specialized expensive equipment to gain access, possibly because of it unique consensus protocol that is highly scalable and completely decentralized.
The Avalanche network was developed by some smart developers who work in a Blockchain development company known as Ava Labs.
The Avalanche blockchain uses three blockchains to facilitate it's efficiency. These three blockchains are X-Chain which is abbreviated from Exchange chain, C-Chain which is abbreviated from Contract chain and P-Chain abbreviated from Platform chain.
Exchange Chain (X-Chain)
This is a decentralized exchange which allows for the trading and exchanging of Avax coin for other coins. This chain allows transaction to be carried out which Avax, being the primary token of the Blockchain is charged as fee.
Contract Chain (C-Chain)
This chain let's the developers in the Avalanche blockchain to be able to build some great dApps which will help improve the blockchain. The Contract chain let's developers write smart contracts on the blockchain and also let's the Avalanche blockchain create any dApp that is Ethereum compatible for better speed and scalability
Platform Chain (P-Chain)
This chain is used to regulate the validators and subnets. These validators are the brains behind the security of the Avalanche blockchain and they secure the blockchain by staking some AVAX tokens.
2.- Explore the Avax Network platform . Screenshots required.
To explore the Avalanche Blockchain, I visited https://www.avax.network/.
On the landing page, we have several features which are Developers, Individuals, Press, Community,
and Contact.
The Developers interface let's developers build some Ethereum compatible dApps, run a validator, mint tokens, integrate an exchange and also make some documentations.
Individual Interface gives a breakdown of the roadmap of the Blockchain, the solutions it can give, ecosystem, Avalanche wallet, Avalanche explorer and the Avalanche bridge.
The Avalanche wallet let's users create a wallet where they can store their AVAX tokens. Creating a wallet can be done by clicking on create wallet.
Then proceed my generating key phrase which will help in importing the wallet to another device.
The Avalanche explorer allows users to filter transactions using the addresses which had been recorded in the Blockchain.
Clicking on Open the explorer, a user can access the Avalanche explorer.
The Avalanche Ecosystem allows users to access some other applications which are incorporated in the Avalanche blockchain.
Avalanche-X
This feature let's user to apply for some funds to use it and improve their projects created on the Avalanche blockchain.
Press
This feature gives details of the news about the Avalanche blockchain.
Community contact
This feature allows user to access the social media handles of the Avalanche blockchain.
3. Show the Last Verified Contract in the C-Chain Network and Show the smart contract that was generated at the address. Screenshots required
To access the last Verified contract in the C-Chain network, I visited https://snowtrace.io/
Then I tapped Blockchain and then clicked on Verified contracts
The topmost contract is the last Verified contract having the Contract name to be AvaxPay and the Contract address is 0x49a8DC84EE43741193151E3E967BCa0ADEB1E338
The Contract address which is 0x49a8DC84EE43741193151E3E967BCa0ADEB1E338 have a total of 12 transactions contained in it.
4. Explore the last block generated in the C-Chain network. Screenshot required.
To access the last block generated in C-Chain network, I visited https://snowtrace.io/
Then I clicked on Blockchain and the selected by view blocks.
The last block has the block number to be 9317261 which was executed 10 seconds ago, having a total of 13 transactions and the transaction hash is 0x6e94476c54f7e4cd6259a7b6a357ea0e67298e7b29f3b8092258518dd9370ba7
5. Explain in details the Avalanche Consensus Protocol and Snowman Consensus Protocol
The Avalanche blockchain uses was built in a complete decentralized protocol where no one was elected to be the leader for the validation of transactions. Validation of nodes are done through a protocol know as Direct Acyclic Graph (DAG). This protocol helps to enhance the level of speed and scalability which makes transactions to be confirmed and verified in parallel.
Snowman Consensus Protocol
The snowman protocol is a protocol which is found in the Avalanche Consensus Protocol . It is dedicated to creating blocks and also directs the way transactions are to be confirmed in a linear manner so that recording of the transactions in the smart contract can be done with ease.
Conclusion
The Avalanche Blockchain has proven in all ramifications to be a great Blockchain with high level of speed and scalability. This Blockchain has several great features which allows other dApps to be built on it and it supports the Ethereum virtual machine.
