1). What do you think about the presence of the Audius platform in the music industry?
Generally, man love entertainment, after days of hustling man uses entertainment to relax his body and mind. Everybody on the earth loves entertainment, it can be in form of video games, watching movies, watching comedy, or even listening to music.
One great means of entertainment is called Music. Every single human being on earth loves to either sing or listen to music. Music has now been an integral part of man’s life. Music is used to relax the mind of man, it also changes the mood of people, people listen to music when they are down. Music has so much usefulness in the life of man and man can’t do without music. Music is being sung from country to country, from region to region with a different language and different musical instruments.
Music is formed when people combine different notes to create a pleasant sound to the hearing of the listener. The music itself is an art, that people create and sell to make money. Today in the world we have countless musicians who are millionaires in dollars. The music industry is becoming wider as the days go by. The like beatmakers, composers, directors, writers, even singers and lots more make the music industry.
Seeing the facts musicians are making money does not mean that the music industry is not having a negative side. Theft of Music has been on the rise for a long now. The main owner of some songs has suffered great loss due to theft in the music industry, piracy and copyright just become the order of the day in the music industry. Sometimes even the Musicians get nothing from their song.
Knowing the fact that ownership right is crucial for you to make a living out of the music you sang or wrote. Which made blockchain technology of high importance to the music industry. Your music can be saved in the ledger, which everyone can see but one can change it. This is where the Audius Platforms that work on the blockchain come into play.
Audius Platform which was created by Roneil Ramberg and Forrest Browning in 2018, made the Audius platform work on the blockchain, being a decentralized system that enables the sharing and streaming of songs.
So the presence of the Audius platform has brought the following underlisted achievement ever since it came into existence.
- The Presence of the Audius Platform has come to change the music industry for real. Former before your song will be heard, you will need a known musical label, that will sign you, determine how much you get, and also promote you and your song. Ever since the introduction of the Audius Platform, It has brought Decentralization to the system. With the Audius Platform, you do not need the presence of the music label and the promoters. Audius platform made sure that there is no third between the Music creators and the listeners. This is a very good development because most of the time the music label charges a huge amount of money before you can get signed into their label.
- Ever since the Introduction of Audius came into existence, Musicians now receive direct feedback from the listeners which is better. And this will also help the musician to grow and connect more to their audience. This is also another great advantage of the Audius platform being a Decentralized system
- Another great thing about the Audius platform, is that it makes the Musician the legit owner of his Music. Knowing the fact that the Audius platform works on a Decentralized system, no one can steal your song, there is no form of piracy or copyright again, thanks to this wonderful Audius platform.
- Using the Audius, Musicians get Monetized easily, once your song is being listened to, you get rewarded with a wonderful cryptocurrency called the AUDIO that works on the Audius platform.which can be converted to fiat currency and used locally.
2). With the governance system used by Audius, do you think that system has made Audius a fair and fully decentralized platform? If not, please provide your suggestions for the system that Audius uses to make it more fair and decentralized.
It has made the Audius Platform fully and also a fairly decentralized system. The fact that users can be part of the decision-making process, which is the core quality of the decentralized system. Knowing also that users can do governance voting on the audios platform is another reason why I said that it is a fully and fairly decentralized system. The fact that users partake in decision processing making it simply means that users can shape the future development and important update in the platform
By having the Audio token, you can stay on the Platform for as long as you can.
Moreover, we know that the Audius Platform is built of a blockchain that is decentralized by nature. It is built of the second-largest blockchain which is called EThereum blockchain. The Audius uses its native token called the AUDIO. We know that Ethereum has a very strong security
The removal of all forms of Third parties makes it even more decentralized, we know all the processes, it involves a centralized system before the masses can hear your song. WIth the Audius Platform in place, Song owners now have copyright and full ownership of the songs that they created.
Another wonderful feature of the Audius platform being on Blockchain technology as a decentralized system is its transparency ability. When compared to the conventional way of music circulation which has no transparency. If you don’t have money your music cannot go far, because you can't pay promoters and music labels to promote your song for you.
With the points above I have suggested how to Audius more fair and decentralized in this our current world.
3). Explain how to do 2 types of staking on Audius complete with illustrations. (Image Required)
Staking on the Auduis platform is of 2 types, which are
- Operator Staking
- Staking Delegation.
Operator Staking
This type of staking is being done by the operator, Operators stakes their AUDIO token for the platform to keep on running. For the storage of Data, contents, Information, and any other thing on the platform it is needed for the operator to stake their Token so the system will be healthy. This is what is called Operator staking.
The operator staking is being done by the node operator, As the node operators increase, it also increases the security of the Audius platform. For the operator to achieve these, the need of a supercomputer is needed and also the operator needs to have enough Audio tokens for him to participate
Staking Delegation.
As the name implies, this is the process of Delegating AUDIO tokens to the node operators, due to how expensive the node operator is, then when the reward comes, it will be shared accordingly depending on how many AUDIO tokens you have delegated. Everyone can be a participant in the Delegated staking, with the little AUDIO token you can stake and you will be rewarded by that.
Knowing that anyone can do the delegated staking, we are going to explain how it can be achieved respectively in the steps below
Step 1: Using can use any wallet but in my case, I have downloaded and installed the Metamask wallet, so I can recommend it for you to use also.
Step 2: Then you now enter the official site of the Audius platform, then we can now connect the Audius platform to the matemask.
Then open the Metamask and unlock the password
Then press next for the Metamask to connect
Then press connect, to allow it connect to the Metamask
You can see that the Metamask is connected to the Audius
Step 3: we have successfully connected the Metamask to the Audius Platform, then let us do the delegation of the AUDIO token. You see the list of tokens select, for today we will be using the FIGMENT.So select the Figment.
STEP 4: Then select delegate
Step 5: Input the amount you want to delegate, then press Delegate
Step 6: Then Confirm it with the already confirmed Metamask.
Step 7: also confirm it in your Metamask.
4). Show the steps to create an account on Audius. (Screenshot Required)
These are the steps you need to take to open an account on Audius
Step 1: I used an android phone, so I had to go to the google play store to download the Audius app
Step 2: I open the app after it downloaded successfully.
Step 3: I signed up using an active email address and a real password that I will have access to the account
Step 4: I inputted my password and re-entered it for further confirmation, then I press continue
Step 5: I selected I will fill my profile manually
Step 6: I inputted my profile picture and also my username for proper identification
Step 7: I was asked to follow at least 3 people which I did carefully and selected to continue
Step 8: Allow it to load and you can view your profile as I did to confirm that your account was successfully created.
5). Explore and explain the features available on the Audius application or website. (Screenshot Required)
There are many features in the Audius application, for me, it has similarities with our Instagram application.
- Feed Page: The feed page contains all the posts on the Audius application, as you scroll down you will continue to see the different posts. You can play any post you like
- Trending page: This page is made up of the trending artist either of the day, week, and even year and the number of plays their songs have gotten. From the chart below you can see the daily, weekly, and the yearly trending artist and their songs that made them trend.
- Explore page: in this page, you can things that are not on the feed page, you can explore things on the page. It comprises songs for you, for your mood, for your playlist, and also for your artists.
- Favourite Page: the favorite page is made of what you like and have saved, it comprises tracks, albums, and playlist.
- The Profile Page: The profile page has the information of the user or owner of the account of the Audius music application. You can change your profile picture, upload track, make posts, and also playlists.
- You can also search for items using the search bar at the top of the Audius Music application. I searched for Wizkid on the application.
- Notification: The bar shows all the notifications present in the application.
6). Explain in detail how the mechanism of uploading music content on Audius.
The content in the Audius is being made by the content creator and they upload the content on the Content node. After the content has been received by the content node, it has been stored in the content node.
Both the processing, validation, and transfer of the music is been done by the content node which has a unique code for each upload, which is called reference code, with the reference code the content is easily identified on the Audius Platform
Being on the blockchain, the content data is being distributed to other contents nodes on the blockchain network. Auduis records the transaction and the content is being tracked and linked to the owner’s account.
The transaction is being received by the discovery node, which stores the data and also attaches it to the profile of the content creator so that its ownership will also be noted.
7). Upload your original music to Audius and show the proof using a block explorer. (Screenshot Required)
These are the steps that are needed to upload music to the Audius platform,
- Select upload track
- Select the browse to upload and look for the song you want to upload
- Put in the image that will represent the song and also the genre of the song with the mood of the listener, then press continue
- SImply press continue
- Then wait for the song to upload finish.
- You can see that I now have one track already in my track.
In conclusion, Music will be better for the artists and the listeners when it is on Audius Platform because of its wonderful features. Knowing the fact that the Audius platform works on the blockchain which is a decentralized technology and with this, all the places for the music label and music promoters have been eradicated.
Artists get money from the songs directly and they chat directly with their fans to know what type of songs they will sing and if anybody listens to their song, they get paid immediately and the money is being paid into their account.
For the Audius platform to keep running the user has to stake the native token of the Audius platform which is called the AUDIO. The staking can be done in two ways, which are the Operators Staking and the staking Delegated.
The platform is a nice one and with time more people will know about it and its usage will be very high and most people will like it, knowing the fact that it has a very friendly user interface in its application.
