Interesting: in Germany, the traditional diet was very unhealthy - high in fat, heavy on meat and difficult to digest. Vegetables were usually overcooked beyond recognition... At some point, fast food à la MacDonalds and Burger King came to us: quick preparation, always the same quality, no change in nutritional awareness. The feeling for varied, tasty food only came much later, after the 80s... With the arrival of international cuisines, Mediterranean influence, modern eating styles, the buffet became more colourful and healthier, the cuisine lighter. Nowadays, even the big fast food chains offer healthy alternatives and generally quite tasty dishes. It's still not my style, this quick takeaway and gorging on the go, but some prejudices are overtaking themselves ;-))
