1997 First Day On The Train Experienced

Welcome the month of love! How's your day? For me, it's going better everyday. Yes, loneliness became a friend of me but I tried leaving my tears and embraced the open opportunity coming along the way.

Anyway, I had a funny experienced about my first day on board on the train alone. The first time , I was with my Aunt, there was a smooth trip going to the agency where I applied my work. She showed me too how to ride again to the bus termina bound to the house of my Aunt. I need to ride a bus from Manila to the province for 6 hours. My Aunt had her work so she couldn't go with me everyday.

Fifth Avenue LRT

My agency was located in Mabini, Malate Metro Manila. The bus stop from the province was near to the 5th Avenue Light Railway transportation . So I must stop there and got my starting point of my ride. The nearest LRT station to my Agency was Pedro Gil. I would be a 25 minutes walk to my agency from the LRT station. I didn't like riding a bus or jeep. I loved walking to know and familiar the place I need to go.

From the province to Manila, I got the Fifth avenue for the first alone. I successfully reached the Pedro Gil station, getting down by the staircases and walked going to the Agency. I did it so very well.

Confusion

From the 5th Avenue station going to my agency, the final destination would be the Baclaran. Going home to the province, the final station is San Fernando but Balintawak was common to me since it was the first station we onboarded with my Aunt. Later, she told me that 5th Avenue was a better choice and safe for me near the bus station.

From Agency , I went up to the Pedro Gil station. I was scared whybI didn't see the 5th avenue and all passenger got out from the LRT. I noticed it was the final station Baclaran. My heart beats so fast. Supposed to be from the agency, I need to walk and stransfer across the street under the LRT railway going to south,🤣🤣🤣. What I mistakenly did, I went up and had my ride not knowing that it was going to Baclaran.

Finally, I got my right way but still I got wrong. I didn't stop in 5fh avenue and I reached Balintawak station again. I went across again and stopped in the right station the 5fh Avenue then I saw the bus for the province.

Lesson learned

Be smart and try to ask question to the guard and the ticket sales agent. Do not ask to a strangers. Language barriers waste reason why I was shy talking. I am Bisaya , my native tongue, while in Manila they use national language, Tagalog. I can understand Tagalog because im school we studied using English and Tagalog since Kinder up to college. But I am good in writing but talking using with national language with people was too hard for me before. Like English language, I couldn't talk fluently with people. I am better using it in writing.

Until now, I smile remembering those awkward embarrassing moment in my life.
