Merlis was a real cheerful girl and very different from everyone else, she could have as much fun as or more than the other girls without losing her style and that was something that caught the attention of many. How every morning Merlis left home very early to attend dance classes and then her language classes, she loved to get lost in the melodies of each class. While she dreamed of being very big among the big ones, what mattered most to her was to feel happy and satisfied.

One morning the notice arrived at the academy that they had to prepare to participate in the dance of the year of the royal academy, all the girls were euphoric with so much excitement and from now on they were curious to know how they should be dressed or what song they would dance, it was a unique emotion for them.

It did not take the teacher to clarify some of the doubts of the girls, to begin with he said....

Each girl must wear her best gala dress, the one she thinks she can dazzle everyone and capture the attention of the best dance teachers who will attend.

They all look very happy faces and see merlis with pretentious gestures.

Says the teacher ... Remember that for a good dance the shoes are the most important thing in the whole look.

With those words everyone understood that they had to wear high heels but merlis already had her look ready in her mind, she was a practical girl and quickly thought of a good fashionable dress with some nice sneakers. Days went by and rehearsal after rehearsal it was time to rehearse with the slippers and it was then when merlis realized that she could not dance with that kind of shoes, a little worried she went home walking with a sad look on her face, because she did not want to stop participating in the dance.

Anthony, a good friend of Merlis' noticed that something was going on and caught up with her, he decided to accompany her and find out what was wrong.

Anthony what am I going to do? it's the best and most important dance of the academy and I don't know how to dance with slippers, besides it's not my style.

Calm down! Anthony says, don't get more anxious than usual, I can help you and if you want to practice this afternoon, come home and bring your slippers.

Merlis with some hope accepted and that afternoon with each attempt she improved but could never complete the dance, which made her feel very disappointed in herself, but Anthony went to his sister's room and brought with him a pair of very nice tennis shoes that in terms of colors matched Merlis's dress and told her .

Merlis astonished says: "Not at all, they won't allow me to do that at the academy".

Anthony, a bit serious, asked her where was the authentic and original friend he knew? The one who, between opinion and comfort, preferred to be comfortable?

After a minute of silence, Merlis gets up, grabs her sneakers and starts dancing, she felt so happy that her happy face could show Anthony that his help had worked. .

The days passed and the big night arrived, all the girls were dazzling with beauty and happiness, but before the dance the teacher organized a brief rehearsal to select the dancer who would take the main role of the dance, the girls did well but showed gestures of discomfort, while Merlis was the most comfortable and was selected for the main role.

The curtain went up and the dance began, Merlis left everyone impressed with her participation, she interpreted the dance so well that she transmitted the idea of being inside the music, which left the name of the academy very high.

After the dance, they wanted to interview her and they asked her

What made you dance in such a cool way?

Merlis answers... I never stopped being me, and thanks to the advice of a good friend I enjoyed this dance as much as I wanted to.

The reporter takes a good look at her and asks her, "You're coming! But didn't you have to dance in glass slippers?

Merlis replied... Yes, but sneakers is what there is!!!!

This answer left a big smile on the reporter's face and a lot of applause from the audience.

Merlis said goodbye and ran to his friend Anthony to celebrate and end the night with the best thing he knew how to do, dance..
