Patience in life
It feels eternal to get time to write again. During these days of a hectic routine, I have realized that you can write only in a clean environment.
How dearly I missed doing catharsis by writing words in this digital world.
One thing I learned during this period is to be patient and accept things as they are when you have done your part.
We are having a little home remodeling: changing door frames and their color, painting, and furniture remodeling.
And mind it we are living in the same place that is undergoing a makeover to bring a new change in our surrounding.
Little did I know that it would be so difficult to adjust to this chaos. Like getting up early, sacrificing my sleep and my bed, and spending all day and night in one corner of the house.
Above all seeing your home in a messed up and dirty condition when you are not allowed to clean it until they leave in the evening.
The helpers hold us that don't worry about getting it dirty, we'll make sure to clean it all before leaving.
But when were they leaving?
It has been more than two weeks and they are here, hopefully, they will wind up tomorrow.
We didn't trust their promise and kept scratching paint marks on the floor from day one without any help.
My legs have gone sore due to this. But staying in a dirty place wasn't even a question.
My mother and brother had put more effort during these days while cooking food and supervising them.
I can't imagine the condition if we kept it with paint marks for two weeks, Astaghfirullah.
My imagination ends here. It gets scared.
I'm patiently waiting for the house to become a home again with beds in their places.
So that I can write again regularly. I'm terrified to know that I was so in my comfort zone (bed) that I couldn't function outside it ( talking about writing).
Writing comes naturally to me with clarity of mind, one thing we didn't have for two weeks and tolerance too.
For when the color you chose in the pictures doesn't justify it in real.
When I first saw the door colour, I felt awful and everybody lost their patience to endure this difficult time. And started blaming everyone, you chose it, no you were into it, I was suggesting a darker tone, no you said to go nude this time.
I was in favor of white/off-white/cream color for doors. But my mother wasn't ready for this conversation. Her point was that it would get dirty soon and what about dust storms?
When it came to furniture, she said to paint it black, this time I wasn't ready for this conversation.
And the furniture is still waiting for the final verdict which is not coming any soon.
Just imagine 6 people telling their different opinions, and 3 parties instructing the painters differently.
I'm telling you that World War 3 will begin from my house.
I'm still amazed how they come this far and completed their work, great patience maybe.
To divert our minds we only had to kill time on social media but damn this internet.
We have been facing troubled internet for many months in Pakistan, don't know why.
Govt says it's those naughty sharks playing with submarine cables. I don't know what stops this govt from having a trip on a submarine to make those nonsense sharks behave.
However, people say it's due to the restricted software that govt had installed a couple of months ago, causing slow internet.
Here govt again intervenes and says the real culprit is the VPN that people are using to gain access to X (Twitter).
Our govt has unofficially banned
X due to political reasons and people are not ready to give up on X.
So vpn is used abundantly here. It's true, it causes slow internet, I have witnessed better internet after turning it off.
But again internet is not as good as it used to be. It takes a lot to load sites. I am used to doing it with patience by the way because my previous Wi-Fi wasn't much better either.
Or I just simply turn off my phone instead of throwing it on the wall(freshly painted), and follow for more patience classes.
Pakistanis have pro maximum level of patience. We have been doing only this thing since we got independence. Pakistanis are not living, they are just surviving.
After all this, will it be fair to have trials on the day of resurrection?
Anyhow, I learned to endure delays in life and accept things you can't do anything about.
It brings peace and calmness when you stop fighting stupid fights and focus on meaning and purpose of your life.
I appreciate all the people who continue to share their posts amidst chaos in their schedules.
You guys are real warriors :)
First of all: the mix of your styles, your tastes, your preferences in terms of home interior looks - judging by the pictures - wonderfully cosy and homely! Soon you'll be living there again instead of just existing in a corner ;-)) Your patience will pay off.
The rest is silence... Yes, VPN costs a lot of bandwidth and speed. No, sharks don't really nibble on deep-sea cables. It could all be so simple.
Thank you rabe, it will be worth it i know. Your home renovation was the first thing i used to see,red beauty, and now i have realised the struggle behind it.
No sharks actually bite pakistani cables, humour is our way to live in this country:p
If you think that's bad... Don't move in with us. Joking but not really
