Harmful but Delicious

In Kazakhstan... Here in Kazakhstan... You're probably tired of hearing this...😁 So, fast-food brands like McDonald's and KFC appeared much later in Kazakhstan than, for example, in Europe, closer to the 2010s. This doesn't mean that we are behind you; we just don't rush😅😅😅

Before that, we had something similar, like pies with potatoes or cabbage, chebureks or belyashes (these are flatbreads filled with minced meat and onions and then fried). They were sold in small kiosks similar to those where doners are sold. Doners also came to us late, probably around the same time as these fast-food chains.

And when McDonald's and KFC appeared here, their prices were such that not everyone could afford to eat there. Their prices could be compared to restaurant prices, but many still wanted to go there, and advertising wasn't needed thanks to American movies😅(Perhaps it wasn't as expensive as in restaurants, but at that time, I had so little money that it seemed like that).

I first ate at McDonald's in 2006 in Germany when I went to Bremen for a judo tournament among older boys. Oh yeah... To say that I liked it would be an understatement. I was thrilled!

And now I love to eat fast food: burgers and doners, french fries, even though they are not considered healthy food. But I don't eat them often. By the way, a few years ago, McDonald's left Kazakhstan. I don't know the exact reasons, but now we have many other foreign and local fast-food chains that are just as tasty.
