English - Writing is Not Easy Part 8 : How To Maximize Your Reward Potential in Communities

1. Steemit Communities dan Steemit Communities Support Program

Dear fellow members of Motivation Story Community.

The Steemit Team initiated the Community Support Program at the end of last year. This can be read in an article entitled Steemit Communities Support Program which was uploaded by @steemitblog on December 28, 2020.

The launch of this program was based on the vision of the Steemit team to create strong (read: prosperous) communities on the Steem blockchain, which will be capable of supporting their own activities on it. But that of course requires hard work in the long run. So that four booming accounts were launched to encourage the achievement of this goal, because the two main curation accounts of Steemit (@steemcurator01 and @steemcurator02) are naturally overwhelmed if they have to do all the works.

The four booming accounts, at the time of their birth, were each funded with 1.3 million SP. That is a very big power, to carry out a responsibility that is also not small. These booming accounts have the task of curating quality articles uploaded through communities that participate in the Community Support Program.

2. The Curation Process In The Community That Is Bound To Contracts With Booming Accounts

The journey of an article in the community that participates in the Community Support Program, can simply be illustrated by the following diagram:

Articles uploaded to the community will undergo a curation process from the community managers. During this curation process, the community managers will:
- check for violations of general rules on the Steemit blockchain (including the authenticity of articles and plagiarism content),
- check the fulfillment of special conditions determined by the community,
- other matters deemed necessary by each community.
If an article passed this process (qualified), the article will be sent to booming accounts to get curation. If it did not, then usually there will be one of two options imposed on the article, depending on the cause of the "not passing”. Things that cause an article to not qualify include:
- Violating rules on Steemit, for example plagiarism. Articles like this will usually be muted. It could be even worse: downvoted. Mute will make an article "hidden" so that it no longer reaches viewers. While downvotes can drain reward that has been collected (if any) and make the article reach a lower rate so that it will automatically also be "hidden".
- Violating special rules in the community and / or not meeting community specific rules. Articles like this will not be muted, but will be ignored, will not be facilitated to get curation from booming accounts.

3. Motivation Story Community

The history of the Motivation Story Community began earlier this year when the founder of the community, @steemadi, was involved in a conversation with the Steemit team. The series of conversations culminated in the birth of this community on January 14. This community is also a part of the Community Support Program. Currently it has 2,075 subscribers with 98 active posters.

As part of the Community Support Program run by the Steemit team, the Motivation Story Community also carries out curation procedures as required. There are many posts sent to this community that do not meet the special conditions required by the community. There are even those who violate the general provisions set by Steemit. As a Moderator in this community, I often comment on articles so that these writers can improve their quality in the future so that the curation they get can be maximized.

4. DO NOT IGNORE THESE THINGS!

If you want to maximize the curation potential of your articles,

Do not violate the Steemit rules, especially regarding the authenticity of the article content.
Follow the rules set by each community. Regarding the Motivation Story Community, please read this article. The article is a guide that will help you maximize the curation of the articles you upload in this community. Likewise, if you write to other communities, obey the rules there.

1. Keberadaan Komunitas di Steemit dan Steemit Communities Support Program

Kawan-kawan anggota komunitas Motivation Story, salam sejahtera.

Tim Steemit telah menginisiasi Program Dukungan Untuk Komunitas pada akhir tahun lalu. Hal ini bisa dibaca pada artikel bertajuk Steemit Communities Support Program yang diunggah oleh @steemitblog pada 28 Desember 2020.

Peluncuran program ini didasari pada visi tim Steemit untuk menciptakan komunitas-komunitas yang kuat (baca: makmur) di atas Steem blockchain, yang mampu mendukung kegiatan mereka sendiri di Steem blockchain. Tetapi hal itu tentu saja butuh kerja keras dalam jangka waktu yang panjang. Sehingga empat akun booming diluncurkan untuk mendorong pencapaian tujuan tersebut, karena dua akun kurasi utama Steemit (@steemcurator01 dan @steemcurator02) tentu saja mengalami kewalahan jika harus melakukan seluruh kurasi.

Keempat akun kurasi booming tersebut, pada masa kelahirannya, dibekali kekuatan masing-masing 1,3 juta SP. Itu kekuatan yang sangat besar, untuk melaksanakan tanggung jawab yang juga tidak kecil.

Akun-akun booming tersebut memiliki tugas utama melakukan kurasi pada artikel-artikel yang berkualitas yang diunggah melalui komunitas-komunitas yang mengikuti Program Dukungan Untuk Komunitas.

2. Proses Kurasi Di Dalam Komunitas Yang Terikat Kontrak Dengan Akun-Akun booming

Perjalanan sebuah artikel di dalam komunitas yang ikut dalam Program Dukungan Untuk Komunitas, sederhananya bisa digambarkan dengan diagram berikut:

Artikel-artikel yang masuk ke komunitas akan mengalami proses kurasi dari pengelola komunitas. Dalam proses kurasi ini akan dilakukan:
- pengecekan terhadap pelanggaran atas hal-hal yang menjadi aturan umum di atas Steemit blockchain (termasuk otentisitas artikel dan muatan plagiat),
- pengecekan terhadap terpenuhinya syarat-syarat khusus yang ditentukan oleh komunitas,
- hal-hal lain yang dipandang perlu oleh masing-masing komunitas.
Jika “lolos” kurasi komunitas, maka artikel akan dikirim ke akun-akun booming untuk mendapatkan kurasi lanjutan. Jika tidak lolos, maka biasanya akan ada dua pilihan perlakuan yang dikenakan kepada artikel tersebut, tergantung pada penyebab “tidak lolos” tadi. Hal-hal yang menyebabkan sebuah artikel tidak lolos di antaranya:
- Melanggar aturan dasar yang umum di Steemit, misalnya plagiat. Artikel seperti ini biasanya akan di-mute. Bahkan bisa lebih parah: di-downvote. Mute akan membuat sebuah artikel menjadi “tersembunyi” sehingga tidak lagi menjangkau viewer. Sementara downvote bisa menguras reward yang telah dikumpulkan (jika ada) dan membuat artikel mencapai rate yang terlalu rendah sehingga secara otomatis juga akan “tersembunyi”.
- Melanggar aturan khusus di komunitas dan / atau tidak memenuhi aturan-aturan khusus komunitas. Artikel begini tidak akan di-mute, tetapi akan diabaikan, tidak akan difasilitasi untuk mendapat kurasi dari akun-akun booming.

3. Komunitas Motivation Story

Sejarah Komunitas Motivation Story bermula pada awal tahun ini ketika pendiri komunitas, @steemadi, terlibat perbincangan dengan tim Steemit. Rangkaian perbincangan itu bermuara pada lahirnya komunitas ini pada 14 Januari. Komunitas ini juga merupakan bagian tidak terpisah dari Program Dukungan Untuk Komunitas. Saat ini telah memiliki sebanyak 2.075 subscribers dari berbagai negara dengan 98 active posters.

Selaku bagian dari Program Dukungan Untuk Komunitas yang dijalankan oleh tim Steemit, Komunitas Motivation Story juga melaksanakan prosedur kurasi sebagaimana disyaratkan. Ada tidak sedikit tulisan yang dikirim ke komunitas ini yang tidak memenuhi ketentuan khusus yang disyaratkan oleh komunitas. Bahkan ada juga yang melanggar ketentuan umum yang ditetapkan oleh Steemit. Selaku seorang Moderator di komunitas ini, saya tidak jarang mengomentari artikel-artikel agar para penulis tersebut memperbaiki kualitasnya di masa mendatang sehingga kurasi yang didapat pun bisa semakin maksimal.

4. JANGAN ABAIKAN HAL-HAL INI!

Jika kalian ingin memaksimalkan potensi kurasi pada artikel kalian,

Jangan langgar aturan Steemit, khususnya terkait keaslian isi artikel.
Turutilah aturan-aturan yang ditetapkan oleh setiap komunitas. Khusus di Komunitas Motivation Story, silahkan kalian baca artikel ini. Artikel tersebut adalah panduan yang akan membantu kalian dalam memaksimalkan kurasi terhadap artikel yang kalian unggah di komunitas ini. Demikian juga jika kalian menulis ke komunitas lain, taatilah aturan-aturan di sana.
