SEC-S18W6/Shining with your own light
AoA i hope you all are good and enjoying your life. In the natural world many living beings emit light through bioluminescence creating spectacular displays in the dark. As human beings we too have our own luminosity represented by our self esteem ambitions and the desire to attract attention and achieve success. This sixth week of the Challenge invites us to reflect on our own brilliance and how we interact with the brightness of others.
Do you feel that there are opportunities or occasions where you think your brightness deserves to stand out more than that of others?
Yes there are moments when I believe my unique qualities and efforts deserve to shine brightly. As a teacher this could be when I develop an innovative lesson plan that engages students in a new way or when I successfully help a student overcome a learning obstacle. Recognizing these moments is important because it reinforces my confidence and dedication to teaching. Just like how a lighthouse guides ships shining in these moments helps illuminate the path for others.
Knowing how brilliant you are would you be able to turn off your light a little to give someone else the opportunity to shine at an appropriate time? How and why would you do it?
Absolutely. As a teacher its essential to create opportunities for my students to shine. If I see a student struggling to find their confidence I might step back and let them take the lead in a group project or class discussion. This not only helps them build self esteem but also shows them that their contributions are valued. It's like being a coach who steps aside to let the team captain lead supporting and nurturing others is a vital part of growth.
The Hawaiian squid does not shine on its own; it needs the help of others to achieve this. In your case have there been people who have helped you shine or grow?
Yes many people have significantly contributed to my growth and success. Mentors colleagues and even my students have played essential roles by Providing guidance encouragement and opportunities. For example a senior teacher once guided me through a challenging curriculum change offering invaluable advice and support. Their belief in my abilities has helped me to shine and reach my potential. I am deeply grateful for their presence in my life much like how the squid relies on symbiotic relationships to glow.
Fireflies emit light to attract partner but with your qualities and virtues did you manage to have the desired partner or do you continue to emit light to find them?
I am fortunate to have found partner who appreciates and complements my qualitie and virtues. Its beautiful experience to share my life with someone who understand and supports me. However I believe that continuing to "emit light" is essential in maintaining a strong and healthy relationship. ongoing efforts to grow support each other and nurture our bond are vital for long term happiness. Its like continuing to tend to garden even after the flowers have bloomed ensuring it remain vibrant and beautiful.
| I am always happy with what I have and grateful for the opportunities to shine and help others do the same. Reflecting on these aspects of our lives helps us understand our own luminescence and its impact on those around us. Each of us has a unique light to share and knowing when to let it shine and When to let others shine is beautiful balance to strive For. |

Teaching is a very noble occupation and I think teachers are very sincere people to their students. Once a professor said that

And after years of experience, I completely agree with him. Obviously, teachers put every effort into encouraging their students. Because they want their students at much higher places than which they hold. Good luck for your future.

Precisamente el trabajo de un docente es aportar todas las herramientas de que dispone para que los demás brillen, para que sus alumnos encuentren el sendero más iluminado. Y eso también lo hace brillar como instructor, lo hace destacarse dentro de sus competencias como educador. Lo ideal, por otra parte, es que el docente nunca se deje sobornar por la rutina y la comodidad, y busque siempre nuevos métodos, nuevas estrategias para ser cada vez mejor en su oficio, para no quedarse atrás con las nuevas realidades del mundo y de la pedagogía...
