It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: When the time draws near, the believer's dream will not be false. He will be the most true in terms of dreams. There are three types of dreams that will be true in terms of words and the believer's dream is one of the forty components of prophecy. A good dream is good tidings from Allah. A second dream is saddening from Satan. A third dream is one through which man speaks to his own self. Do not spit and do not tell people. He said: I like chains and I dislike shackles. Chain means to be steadfast in religion.
