North Aceh Rayap Waterfall

There are many tourist attractions in North Aceh, including Gunong Salak, Bangka Jaya Sea, Blang Kolam Waterfall, Rayap Waterfall, Lhok Buloh, Krueng Tuan and so on. This time, I will show the condition of Rayap Waterfall, which is located in Sido Mulyo, Kuta Makmur sub-district, North Aceh.

Rayap Waterfall in 2025 began to look very quiet. I don't know why the reason for this tourism is quiet, but most likely, people are already bored with the bathing atmosphere there. In addition, competition between other bathing tourist attractions also causes Rayap Waterfall to be deserted. Recently, the Lhok Buloh bathing place is more attractive to the public than Rayap, maybe there because the bath is more comfortable and cool so it suits families who bring their children to bathe there.

Let's go inside, when we arrive at the gate we will be asked to park for IDR 5,000 (1.70 STEEM). That applies to two tourist attractions, you can go down to the Blang Kolam tour and you can enter the Rayap Waterfall.

Next, let's take a look at the condition of some of the huts next to Rayap Waterfall. Friends can see, on days other than Sunday the atmosphere of this tour is very quiet. Some of the huts are also starting to become fragile.

Let's take a look at the waterfall next. Below are some pictures of the current Rayap waterfall. The condition of the waterfall is still flowing freshly and naturally. However, the water drop is not high, only about 1.5 meters. But the bathing place is not spacious, and there are so many stones that make bathing uncomfortable.

I also captured some photos while I was there. At that time I was helped by my best friend to take the photos. I imagined that a few years ago this waterfall was very crowded by the local community. Even the waterfall is majestic throughout North Aceh and Lhokseumawe. Now the waterfall looks deserted and only a few people come there. Unlike Sunday, which is a holiday so many people come there at least it is not too quiet like today.

On the edges of the Batu there are still traces of where people burned chicken or fish when they came there. In the past, almost every day people came there for healing with their families while playing in the waterfall.

Today was a Tuesday and there were only two canteens open. We stopped by to buy some drinks and ordered Pop Mie to quench our thirst and hunger.

While waiting for our orders to arrive, there are always cats following us around. It's only natural because there are a lot of people grilling fish here first, which invites the cats to come there.

Soon the drinks and Pop Mie orders arrived. The price of the drinks, which are usually sold in the city for only Rp5,000(1.7 Steem), went up to Rp8,000 (2.78 Steem) . In addition, Pop Mie which is usually sold there is Rp6000(2 Steem) to Rp7000 (2.4 Steem) and here is Rp9,000(3.14 Steem). It's only natural that the delivery cost to get there is much more laborious to bring the food to be sold.

But in my opinion Rayap waterfall is still very natural and suitable for refreshing or healing. But for bathing it feels less suitable because there are so many rocks that cause disturbances when bathing. Thus the review of Rayap waterfall which is located in Sidomulyo, Kuta Makmur District, North Aceh Regency. Hopefully it can be useful for everyone and see you in the next post.
