The Basilica Minore del Sto.Niño de Cebu is the oldest catholic church in Cebu and the oldest religious monument in the Philippines. It was founded in 1565 by Father Andres de Urdaneta.

When the church was established it was built of wood and nipa hut but since it was destroyed many times it was also rebuilt several times and now it is how it looks in the present. A solid foundation to survive from calamities.

Every Friday the holy mass and the prayer novena of the patron is said every hour, pilgrims and Christians from different part of cebu will find its way to come to attend the novena mass. This church will always have a huge number of people especially when the fiesta celebration comes every 3rd week of January.

Magellan's Cross

The Magellan's Cross is located beside the
Basilica of the Minore del Sto Niño. The cross that brought by Ferdinand Magellan when he arrived in Cebu. It is served as one of a landmark in Cebu City. The original cross is encased in the presented crucifix.
