Making 3D Shapes
For our activity today, We find out the difference of 2D shape (2 dimensional shape) and 3Dshape (3 dimensional shape)
2D shape is flat, while 3D shape consists of three dimensions, which is, the length, depth and width. Literally, for a preschool to understand easily, It is heavy and fat.
In this picture, we used playdough and sticks to make 3D shapes, we made a cube, pyramid, sphere and even cuboid (not in the picture).
Just simply divide the playdough in smaller sizes and roll making a small sphere. Place the sticks (toothpicks) into the playdough to make 3d shapes.
For this activity, We practice our fine motor skills as well as listening skills.
For the DIY Playdough recipe:
1.5 cup flour
½ cup salt
2 tsp of cream of tartar
2 Tbsp oil
1 cup hot water
Just a little bit of kneading and it’s done. You can add a drop of food coloring you want and if you do not have cream of tartar, you can skip it.
Learning is easy when done in fun ways. It’s effective and lovely memories to cherish.
