Better Life : The "Dress For Every Girl" Project
Hello my lovelies! I hope you're all doing great, happy and most importantly, healthy wherever you are today. Laban lang! Keep the fighting spirit, be courageous and always be positive in life. Everything will be back to normal again soon, very soon, in God's Time and Will, InshAllah. My humble greetings to you all, from my beautiful country, the Philippines 🇵🇭
The "Dress For Every Girl" Project is very dear to me, since I really love the smiles of the little girls when they receive something they could wear, love and be a favorite, too. When I was a kid myself, there's never a week that went by that I missed wearing my favorite dress. I had worn it hundreds of times, played wearing it, ate wearing it and even slept in it.
Cebu, the province where I've been living has been undergoing the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine due to the alarming rise of the Covid-19 cases. The IATF, an agency which set the safety protocols to follow, advised the limited movement of people, thus advising us to limit our exposure outside to protect ourselves and our families from the virus, especially the Delta variant which already reached the country. And with this, our plans to go back to Olango Island for our charity events was put into hold to adhere to the safety protocols set by the government.
Few days before the MECQ was implemented, I have gathered some of the shirts, blouses, skirts and pants for the kids that I am planning to give to the children in my neighborhood. In the morning, I asked Tasha to tell her girl playmates to go to my home as I will be giving them my little presents for them. She got excited and a few minutes later, she came along with her friends. I asked them to group themselves according to their height and size, and I distributed their clothes based on their body size. They are very happy with the simple and little gifts I have for them. I am planning to gather more dresses still to be given for these children, something they could wear on Sundays to church or something they could twirl on.
It was just a happy sight and a fulfilling one to see their happy smiles, just pure joy over a simple blouse or skirt. Indeed, children have the purest hearts!
They went home with grateful hearts, smiling and wearing the clothes I gave them for the rest of the day! Just like me when I was little, played wearing my favorite!
It has been weeks since I did this, but then I could really tell that they love what they received because I always pass by the nearby vacant lot and the girls are there playing and I always see that almost every other day they wear the blouses, shirts and skirts they received from me!
That's for now my friends. Please always take care of yourselves, of your families, be safe always and let's just always pray. In these trying times, we shall overcome. Our God is bigger than any virus!
Love,
Rose
