"Monday..morning..talking..about..me..while..am..making..money....hehehehehehehe...I..no..wanna..take..it..easy..you're..my..hater" is one trending song sang by one of the popular artist, Rema and it's the music I use as alarm by 6am. Making money where? Making money on crypto. My day begins with happiness as a made profit from the trade I set yesterday and ended with a busy day because of stock taking. Now let me start with the full details of my day.

Morning

I wake up by 6am with the help of my alarm as I need to prepare for work. First of all, I needed to do house chores which is very important. But I pick up my phone first to check a trade a made last night. I bought steem at the rate of 0.29 and set take profits at 0.31 since I couldn't be able to stay over night and be watching the chart or the movement of the market.

So as soon as I wake up, I checked my trading and I realized that the steem price had increased to 0.33 and the trade I place on 0.31 has been fill. I made a profit of $4, which about steem, 6400 in naira. I was happy and I get up smiling on my phone. Environmental sanitation happened every Thursday morning till 10am, we cleaned up the compound with other neighbors, then I did some laundry and I hung them out and I took my bath. Remember I need to do the sanitation too at our shop or it might be lock up by task force. On my way to the working place, I branch to a woman selling snack who's my customer as I always patronize her every week.

I bought some snacks, 2 buns and 2 fish-pie, buns is 50 naira while fish-pie is 200. So my total purchase Worth 600 naira. I paid with transfer and I left as I was almost late. It's was a 49min walk from home to my working place. When I gets to the shop, I changed up to a casual wear to do the environmental sanitation and failure to do so might end up locking your shop. I tidy up the environment, sweep, remove cobwebs and store my refuse properly.

A customer who happens to be our regular called me to deliver a cway refill water to her house. She's a granny who doesn't have strength to carry heavy things so I help her to bring the water to her house. She was so happy and she send regards to my boss. I left immediately to continue with the sanitation.

Thursday is always a general day for sanitation in the whole Lagos State and everyone, both public and private sector would resume by 10am. After making sure my shop environment is clean I started shading our goods outside as it already 20 minutes after 10. After shading everything I needed to clean up inside the shop as well , which I did, I brought out everything and checked the ones that's are not useful and dispose them in the dust bin. Meanwhile my phone stand was doing of the work of capturing the moment while I use the earpod on ear to take the shot.

Afternoon 2

Every month we always do stock taking to know our progress in the business, whether we're going forward or backward. So I arrange all the products stake by stake, Pepsi one stake, coke one stake, Malta Guinness one state and the rest. I arrange it like this for easy counting.

Why is it important to do stock taking.
  • When you do stock taking as I said earlier you'll be able to find out some goods that are moving and the dull one.

  • Taking stock will help you to know the profit you made with in the month.

  • Taking stock will also help you to know the particular good you need to invest on and the goods you need to sell out immediately.

So my putting all this together, you're been accountable to your business. Now let me start with how we take the stock.

Stock taking

Taking stock is very easy and simple depending on how you want to do. So I will share you guys how we did our own, maybe it can be useful to you too.

We take our stock by

  • Calculating the total good bought in the month, e.g, total Malta Guinness, total Amstel, etc

  • Counting and calculating the total goods sold within the month, eg how many Malta Guinness we sold in the month of December

  • Counting and calculating the available goods in the shop. How many Malta Guinness do have at the moment, we will records it.

Mathematically we can say:

  1. LS stands for last stock
  2. GB stands for Goods bought
  3. TG stands for Total Goods
  4. S stands for Sold
  5. C stands for current goods present.

Last month we have 19 Malta Guinness, we bought 10 pack and we sold 12½. How many do we supposed tb too have as C(current goods present)?
LS+GB
19+10= 29
Therefore TG= 29

We sold 12½, that's to say
TG minus S,
29 -16½ =12½
So our C which is the current goods present is 12½

In a simple explanation add the total goods last month ans how many you bought within the current month, then subtract what you sold and will get the quantity that should be in the shop. The last step is to confirm whether what you calculated is the same with what you have in the shop, simple as that. The stock taking might take 2 to 3 days depending how much sales made within the month as we started on Monday 06-01-25 and we ended yesterday Thursday 09-01-2025.

The stock lasted till evening which I closed and gone home to rest, it's was a busy day though. I hope I have shared something sensible today with you. Thank you for reading.

Hello there @mhizta 🙌 what a busy day and somehow it's fruitful too. Good job on doing the stock and trade thing. I must admit that you're better than me in that subject. I never tried to do that kind of trade🫣 maybe because it's not my cup of tea. Uhmm.. I'm not ready to face the unseen and unsure risks. It's already in my head even though it's a casual risks while trading.

May I know what's the reason so your country choose Thursday as the clean up day? I wonder what's the story behind it.

By the way 🤣 your sleeping posture is a bit funny.. did you mean to type sweeping, instead?

Thank you for sharing your diary with us and I enjoy reading this.

Hahahah, am not better than you no no no , it's not true, you're unique in your own way so do mine. Talking about trading, I just started it this year though I have it in mind before. I did forex where I lost everything. My brother that one is more risky than crypto. The funny part I experience was that , the first day I tried trading, I made 10$, then use it to trade again, I lost everything. But crypto is not as risky as forex. It's just buying and selling.

The reason why it's Thursday is that Lagos is a popular place with millions of people especially businesses and entrepreneur. So sanitation or environmental sanitation is very important in this environment. On Thursday, everyone is expected to keep in surrounding clean and tidy. This is to reduce the spread of airborne disease and other sickness that might come as a result of dirty environment. Hahaha, the meant sleeping not sleeping though, thank you for taking time to read.

I mean, why Thursday, not Friday or Saturday? it's really new to me you know? so the cleaning day must be done by all members of community wherever they live, works or stay? including the guests, tourists? that's quite interesting you know? there's a weekly contest about photo time in italy community. isn't it interesting to post a photo of the city you live on Wednesday and then on Thursday at the same spot everything will be different to see. Or the situation on Thursday morning then in the afternoon?

To be Honest, you are really a good storyteller/writer, I know you can create many wonderful dan quality posts. Thanks for the response.
