The Diary Game : My Cousin is Giving Birth To A Baby Boy

in Steem SEA3 years ago (edited)

It was really hectic and stressful the other day. My cousin was giving birth to a baby boy so we rushed her to the birthing home where she had availed of her maternity package. However, the midwife refused us the service since the baby was not in the normal position, he was breech. Immediately, we left and headed to a public hospital nearby. Unfortunately, the hospital never let us too for the same reason, they transported my cousin via Ambulance to another hospital instead. But it was almost an hour travel from our place. It's in Eversley General Hospital at Jagobiao, Mandaue City.

We were seven including my mom, aunt, cousins, and the husband of my cousin who was giving birth. Five of us were in a private car following the Ambulance to where it brought my cousin. At around 10:00 in the evening, we reached the hospital.

Due to the increasing number of COVID - 19 patients who're confined in the same hospital, we were not allowed to get in the vicinity, except for the husband of my cousin as there should be only one to accompany our patient inside. So, we were just staying somewhere a little far but could be reached for a few minutes of driving. We kept calling the husband for updates as the last information we got before we left was that our patient had to undergo the Cesarean section if the baby would not come out in 30 minutes and that we had to prepare more or less Php 60,000.00 for it.

After a while, the husband called informing us that the baby finally came out. We screamed our hearts out, we cried. It was a normal delivery after all the rejections and the not-so-good information coming from the staff. I am not sure with what I knew about the delivery and baby position thing, but what I am very sure of is that prayers really work, and that God is always working even in ways we cannot see. We left for home happily.

The baby boy is named Rain Ezekiel. He's plump and healthy. He's like a month old. Yes, he's a little big.

Since everything was normal, the doctor let my cousin to get discharged earlier. After 24 hours, I and my other cousin went to the hospital again to process my cousin and her baby's discharge paper so we can bring them home. We arrived at the hospital at 8:00 in the morning but were able to start to process the paper at around 11:00 since the doctor came in at 10:30. It took us really a while to finish the process as the newborn test result took also time.

Our patient with our baby boy got discharged by 3:00 in the afternoon.
