🎨🖼 I Drew Another of my Own Character from my old Novel. '2nd Character!' 👩🏻‍🦰

Here is my work and I am presenting to you, the main character of my novel, Yumi Akiyahama.

She is the youngest cousin of Kurenai, the one I drew on my first post of crafty content here in #steemsea . She has red unique hair and a very beautiful young girl. I portray her as my cousin. I have 2 closed cousin so there is only on main character I haven't draw yet. Yumi is the character of my own cousin I made for her. So without anything else let's begin my step by step/ tutorial on how I make my own anime version character.

Here are the materials and some of the recycled and old materials I used to make my 2nd anime character.

• Sketchpad (a gift from my bff)
• Faber Castell Pencil 2B
• Black Pilot G-tech C3 ballpen
• Black ballpen 0.5 point, GP-009
• Red Faber Castell ballpen 0.5 point
• 115 & 117 eraser
• Sharpener
• cotton bud
• Recycled colored pencil (brown,peach,gold, yellow, green, light green, blue green, and black)
• 4 color pen (black, red, green and light green)

Next step is trying to build the image that I have in mind.

In this part I didn't know what head dress to use if I would only use a big cap or the normal one.

But what's more bothering me is the placement of the right arm.

I didn't feel like making it look laid back so I kind if struggling here.

I just made two pattern and will get back to it so I focused on other parts. I moved on the next step.

In this part, I made sure to draw what I imagine it to be.

I wanted to make her as beautiful as I described her in my story.

A young, beautiful, sweet and kind lady. Skinny as well. I made her eye round and imagined it already with colors.

Before finalizing what look it would really like a had lots of thoughs and look at it from distance for an hour.

After deciding what the final look would look like I finally had come to a conclusion.

I change the arms and made it look like she is drinking a soda and change her lips 💋 as if she was about to drink on it.

I finalized the looks and redo the nose and mouth to match the face angle.

Made it look like its alive even without color,

put some detailed on the eyes with my pencil.

Now I am torn on what kind of clothing she should be wearing.

I used my Pilot G-tech pen in doing the outline of the eyes so it wont be too thick it drawing it.

I drew it carefully.

In this part I first did the eyebrows then go down to the eyelid to the lashes to the lower eyelid.

Same goes to the other eye. I did them alternately so I can balance it out.

I've also sketch the clothes with a ruffles in lace and thought of what color it should be.

I did the rest and I did a mistake in outlining the hat,

I made it to small so I drew another curve on top of it as to how it should look like.

At first I thought it was ruined already and thought of stopping there,

but I though of an idea and will do it at the end.

I don't want to stress myself so I proceeded the next.

I used the red ballpen 0.5 point on the hair stands and added a few black ballpen outline on it.
I drew the hair with red ballpen since she has bright red hair. I added a patern on the lips a little red lines pertaining to the shape of the lips. I was thinking if I would just go with an all out red ballpen on the lips, so I thought I'll just so the hair first before I finally decide on what it should be.

Here you can see how I first do and color the hair of Yumi, it took me an hour to finish doing the hair. I did it strand by strand and used only 1 pen. And thank God I have this and did not run out of ink. This pen is already old and was just stock up on my pencil case over the years. And this is the only red ballpen we had in the house by now. I was happy with the result and I really think I did great with it. I'm so happy with it.

My next step was to do the skin tone but skin I used one of my old brown colored pencil.

I used it for the shadow effect and will blend it with a lighter shade of peach.

I applied it all over and then changed into peach color.

I blended it using cotton bud that you will see on the next photo below how it looks like blended.

In this step, as you can see the lips already has a color. I used the pink colored pen on in and used a darker one on the mouth. It seem fine to me but I was expecting it to be lighter since she already has red hair.

Next is the eye color, mostly you can see anime characters having green eyes when their hair are red or then shade of red.

So I maintained the cycle of red headed female anime. And it suits her very well.

I used two colored pen in coloring the eyes, green and light green.

I used green on the outer part of the iris and lighter color in between pupil and iris.

I used again here the 2B pencil as shadows and effect on the dress.

I asked my brothers and sister for an opinion what color best suit her dress. They all said white so I decided to make it just plain white.

Added some shadows to make it look like its flowing.

I added color to the soda and didn't knownwhat color should it be. 😅 I added multiple colors in to to may it look like a soda or and iced tea.

In this part I though maybe I could add some background effect even if it just a lighter in color since I am more focused on the character itself.

I tried making it like a blurry backgroud effect so I just did a light drawing and shaded and smoothen all on the background.

I first did the leaves using my colored pencil green and light green.

I added again shadow on the whole body using the brown colored pencil and making it more visible than before.

Using again a cotton bud, I blended and smoothen to remove a grainy like pattern.

To me it looks even better now.

In this step, I took the effort and challenging step on coloring the hat, I didn't know what it would look like but I just gave it a shot. I used a dandelion color on the pattern in the hot lining it in circle following the shape of the hot. I used the same color and applied it as the color or the hat and added a lighter color, yellow. Also added a brown color on for shadow effect and blended them altogether nice and smoothly.

I continue using the brown colored pencil on the table she is at and first did the shadow making sure it looks darker so I added some pressure but not too much so you won't break or tear the paper.

I used the red pentel pen as for darker effect on the hair, though I don't think there is a difference after adding it. 😅

This time I've already found a way to make it look like I didn't make a mistake on the hot. I wasn't able to tell you about it on the first part that I added the ribbon.
