Commemorating World Blood Donor Day, UTD Dr Fauziah Bireuen Hospital Holds a Blood Donor.

Dr Fauziah Regional Hospital in collaboration with the Blood Transfusion Unit (UTD) at Dr Fauziah Bireuen Regional Hospital, Thursday (13/6/2024) held a blood donation in the hospital yard.

Blood donation activities participated in by medical, non-medical personnel and the public to commemorate this year's World Blood Donor Day. Apart from medical personnel, the community and patients' families also donate blood, some donate on buses and some also in beds on the hospital floor.

This activity received an extraordinary response from the community, with a total of 77 blood bags collected. The blood collected consists of various types, so it can meet the diverse needs of patients.

This event is in line with the theme of World Blood Donor Day 2024, namely "With Blood Donation, World Life Will Become Healthy and with Safe Blood Will Save World Life".

According to Dr. MUKHTAR MARS, Head of Dr. Fauziah Bireuen, the 20th anniversary of World Blood Donor Day is a special moment to express gratitude to blood donors throughout the world for their invaluable contributions in saving lives over the years.

He also emphasized that the main purpose of this commemoration is to honor donors who have made a big impact on patients and other donors, as well as providing momentum to overcome the various challenges faced in providing safe and adequate blood.

Apart from blood donation activities, UTD RSUD Dr. Fauziah Bireuen also gave awards to five agencies and to donors who had donated blood 36 times. This award is given as a form of appreciation for their dedication and commitment in supporting the blood donation program.

The success of blood donation activities at Dr. Fauziah Bireuen hopes to increase public awareness about the importance of blood donation and encourage more people to become voluntary blood donors.
