A total of 111 students from Almuslim University (Umuslim) Peusangan, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, participated in the Student Work Lecture (KKM) briefing in the East Campus General Lecture Room, Friday, August 2, 2024.
The KKM briefing for batch XXV of the 2023/2024 academic year lasted for three days, or since Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
The Chief Executive, Syarkawi said, the number of Umuslim students who registered as KKM participants, met the academic and administrative requirements of 111 people consisting of 34 men, 77 women.
They are from the Faculty of Agriculture 14 people, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) 17, the Faculty of Engineering 10, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) 43, the Faculty of Computer Science (Fikom) 22, and the Faculty of Economics 5 people.
The briefing activity will be held for three days, from July 31 to August 2, 2024 starting at 08.00 to 17.00 WIB, they will receive general and specific materials from experts.
Later, students will carry out KKM for 30 days starting from August 12 to September 10, 2024 in Bukit District and Wih Pesam District. Bener Meriah Regency has 12 villages each.
Each village will be placed between 4-5 students from various study programs. While the number of Field Supervisors (DPL) is 6 people, one DPL will supervise 4 villages from permanent lecturers at Almuslim University.
The briefing was opened by the Chancellor of Umuslim, Dr. Marwan, M.Pd who was represented by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Halus Satriawan, M.Si.
In his remarks, Halus Satriawan said that the KKM program is an implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The KKM community service program in Bener Meriah takes the theme "Building Community Welfare Through Optimizing Education, Health, Information Technology, Economy and Social".
It is hoped that students can actively participate in the KKM location, by building a village information system and other programs, because according to the program in the Aceh Provincial Office, the village must have a central data information system.
"So that the data in the village can become a national database. This is what we help with KKM activities. For the village data building program, we have been doing it for the past three years, namely in Pidie Jaya and Central Aceh. This year in Bener Meriah," explained Halus Satriawan.
For that, he hopes that students can follow it by preparing themselves so that they can adapt to the environment of the placement location, so that they can help the community in solving problems in the village.
He reminded students to protect themselves and avoid conflict with the community. So far, the placement of Umuslim KKM students in Gayo land has not had any problems. This means that the community accepts the presence of students well.
In fact, he said, students during KKM in Tanah Gayo, when they are finished, when they return to campus, they are blessed with a number of souvenirs given by the community.
"We expect KKM participants to be able to maintain the good name of their families and campuses. Go through every process well, so that later they can carry out programs and help the community in Bukit and Wih Pesam Districts, Bener Meriah. That way, the community will be happy and benefit from the presence of the younger siblings," hoped Halus Satriawan.
In addition, he also reminded, at the end of the service students are required to prepare a report. This is because the report during the implementation of KKM is part of the assessment by the DPL and Bapel KKM.
