RE: Tasty Tuesday's - Rice-illicious Cookoff! Second Edition with HUGE prizes!
I don't know where you are, but here I can find rice flour is smaller packages in the flour section. Either way in 0,5kg box or bag.
I actually use it only to make something like you do the semolina pudding. Just boiled with milk and some salt and sugar to a thick consistency. It's good with the jam on top or some fruits.
@ewkaw I make porridge with cooked rice, same with the rice-pie. For it I use a part of the rice porridge left.
It sounds like baby food to me ... although we use cornflour for that.
I live in the Netherlands. Is it tasty? You eat it warm or cold?
Thank you for your response.

@trendotoken I like to see a list with exceptions. Where can I find it?
It is like baby food :) And it does reminds me the one made of cornflour, but the taste is different. I prefer the rice one. And I can eat it both warm and cold. Depends what you prefer.
Try it :)
I normally add just 2-3 spoons of the rice flour to about 0.5 l of cold milk in a pot and then start cooking it. Just keep stirring, cause it will fall to the bottom and burn. When it starts boiling it will thicken up. Then I add some butter (or pinch of salt), some vanilla extract and cook for just 1-2 minutes more. It will be very thick.
I like to put some jam or fresh fruits on top and just eat warm.
@ewkaw I will try it once, both cold and warm.and see if it is a success. Now I make porridge from rice. It works too.
