How we experience day and night and seasons per year. It is amazing. But we cannot see how it is doing. Because we can see and we can feel those changes like climate changes, temperature changes etc.
There are three main things affected to those situations. Because of mechanics of earth's orbit around the sun and it's orientation.

One of the factors is earth's rotation. It is Earth's can spin completely once per day (24 hours) around Earth's axis. That the reason why we have the day and night. If we see from north pole of the earth, we can see that rotation is counterclockwise.

The second reason mostly affected to the seasonal changes. The countries near the equator that cannot see the seasonal changes clearly. But near the pole we can clearly see seasonal changes. Because of that revolution. Revolution helps to only small influence on seasonal heating. Earth rotates around the sun in a elliptical plane. Therefore, we can observe seasonal changes as winter, spring, summer, and autumn.

Third main reason is tiltation(23.5). Earth's tilt is the principal cause of the seasons. The tiltation is main affect to the amount of solar energy reaching the top of the earth's atmosphere through the year by influencing.
The tiltation is affected to the period of the day light, solar angle, and beam spreading & atmospheric beam depletion.

The seasonal variation in temperature and the ratio of the day to night hours are due to the fact that Earth's axis of rotation is tilted about 23.5 away from perpendicular to the plane of its orbit around the sun.

In summer, north pole of earth's axis is tilted 23.5 towards the sun. Therefore daytime is longer than nights. Contribute with higher average of temperature.

In winter north pole of earth's axis tilted 23.5 away from the sun and night are longer than days. Consists with lower average of temperature.

In spring and autumn, the Earth's rotation axis is parallel to the sun and day and night are equal in length everywhere on Earth.

The slight variations in Earth's distance from the sun has very little effect on Earth's temperature and seasonal variations.
