Let's join hands to build a polythene-free environment
Hello steemians!!!
I hope to talk today about the use of polythene, a current issue.I wanted to link this to something I did as a project to do in A / L.I was able to provide a great solution to the polythene problem at school. The children used polythene bags to bring flowers every day for the morning Buddha worship at school. The problem was that the polythene bags were dumped on the school premises. Adding polythene in this way was a big problem for us.
For this, I gave my hand-made Vatakeiya vats to every class.Going to classrooms every day and constantly monitoring the use of vats.
During the school morning meeting, awareness was given on several occasions about the use of polythene.I Explained the concept of 3R, environmental damage caused by polythene, and dioxin emissions from volcanic eruptions.Introduce alternative applications that can be used instead of polythene.
My project was perceived as the best project of 2015.Now I am going to show you how I set up the vats mentioned above.
The first step is to cut the leaves of the watakeiya plant.Well matured leaves are best.
The second step is to remove the thorns on the leaves. At the same time the foliage should be torn into thin strips. Those thin strips are tied together in bundles.
Then the bundles should be boiled.
Add papaya leaves and Habarala leaves to the boiling pot.The purpose is to whiten the watakeiya leaves quickly.
The white bunches unfold and dry.
After it dries well, it is re-packaged and dyed.
Dissolve the dye in well-heated water.
Put some bundles on it.Mix well to coat the paint.
Unroll the bundle and let it dry well again.
Eventually the vats are made.
This is the project I did.
I tell you to minimize the use of polythene as much as possible.Should look for replacements whenever possible.Although polythene has to be used, it should be disposed of properly. It should be recycled without burning. If we change in this way, an environment free of polythene will be created.
Thank you all of you for reading this. Hope to meet you in another article.
Congratulations !
Thank you
