WRITING CONTEST #2 - My favourite champ... who doesn't exist | By @epirela22 | ESP - ENG | club75
Cordial greetings to everyone in the #woxsports community, pleased to be here with you again, this time I come to make an appearance in the second contest of my friend @frafiomatale, which is now about something different from what we are used to and it is We must talk about our favorite champion, an imaginary character, one that does not exist.
LIGAS MAYORES PARTE II / MAJOR LEAGUE II (1994)
The second installment of the film that deals with a real major league team, such as the Cleveland Indians currently (2022) Cleveland Guardians, but when they made the film back then if it existed under that name, the director in this second part of the plot tells us and gives us continuity on what happened in the first part but now adding more characters, a little more drama, love and comedy to make sense of the team from the city of Cleveland who at that time, talking about the movie come from having a successful season and in this part they seek to repeat it.
Among the most prominent characters were: Tom Berenger, (Jake Taylor) Dennis Haysbert, (Pedro Serrano) Omar Epps (Willy Mays Hays) David Keith(Jack Parkman) and my favorite of all: Charlie Sheen (Rick Vaughn) a starting pitcher and cerrdaor who earned everyone's respect in the previous installment for his performances from the mound, because he had a talented arm and his pitches reached great speeds, nicknamed "crazy thing" or as it was always called "wild thing" ' was a very particular character that attracted me a lot for being aggressive from the mound with his pitches, pitches that reached 100 MPH and each one of them had a name given by himself.
LANZAMIENTOS Y ESTILO DE VESTIR QUE CAUTIVARON AL PUBLICO / LAUNCHES AND DRESSING STYLE THAT CAPTIVATED THE PUBLIC
Those pitches were unique, those pitches in the movie made him very famous, I remember the pitch: Number 1, the ''terminator'' hahaha, which at first was an unbeatable pitch for his opponents, until for reasons, techniques or that he was always part of it, his former teammate Jack Parkman, who knew him very well, managed to decipher them very well until he hit several home runs during the season.
His way of dressing was unique, in the first installment, he captivated the public with his haircut, with some lines on the back of his head, and a rocker short-sleeved black jacket that intimidated opponents accompanied by music from background that drove the fans crazy when they entered the field of play to throw.
LA ACTUACIÓN QUE LO CONSAGRO COMO LANZADOR DENTRO DE LA PELÍCULA / THE PERFORMANCE THAT ESTABLISHED HIM AS A PITCHER WITHIN THE MOVIE
After his success as a pitcher in the first half, in this second half he arrives at training with a different image and a different way of dressing, a very elegant way of dressing that would not do him any good, because it took away that sporty touch that characterized him. , that rudeness with his style of play that he would lose with that elegance, and in addition to the fact that he stops using his glasses when throwing, causing him severe damage when throwing because he could not place the pitches in a good way at the time of throw home.
All this leads him to lose his ownership among the team's pitchers and that is when he is taken to the bullpen, there he is very little used and makes him cool down a bit, a couple of bad performances in the American League final against his division rival, the Chicago White Sox and Jack Parkman make him stop throwing and lose all credibility in his talent. Later in the series against the Chicago team and in the last game, with his team leading in the bottom of the ninth inning 6 runs to 5, his team needs him, he is called to pitch and that is when he enters the field of play wearing his old clothes, rocker and that haircut that characterized him, wearing his glasses and a song called: ''wild thing'' that drove those present in the stadium crazy, he entered nothing more and nothing less to face his former partner Jack Parkman; everyone thought that he was going to be the same failed pichert of the past, and with 3 pitches with exorbitant speeds he managed to strike out Parkman for the last out of the game and managed to give victory and pass the world series to his team.
CONCLUSIÓN / CONCLUSION
That turn against Parkman captivated me, because it was the demonstration that he still had his talent in his pitches, that he only needed to make some technical adjustments and get rid of all that luxury equipment and money to finish doing everything he had always done. , pitch well, hard and get his opponents out, his clothing was something unique too, the song at the time of his entry to the field of play and the haircut make this mythical baseball character, fictional that He never existed in real life but he gave life to a character and a very successful pitcher in the middle of a comedy that however this movie gives him the sports touch to make it as real as possible that led him to success.
I've never come across this movie before and having watched that clip, I want to watch it now. You've probably ruined the ending for me now though 🤣
hahaha.. seriously you had not seen that movie.? I don't believe you!
Seriously, I haven't! Baseball isn't very popular in the UK which might explain why 🤔
He was so confident about the last ball but he missed it. I'm not a good baseball fan but I enjoyed the clip you have provided. Nice entry to the competition.🙌
After reading this you entry, I feel I should just leave everything I am doing to go and watch the movie. Great entry and all the best in the contest.

No tenía idea de que era tan vieja, 1994 es muy vieja, recuerdo verla muchas veces en TV por los principios de los 2000 y si es realmente muy buena amigo fue una gran elección, mucha suerte en el concurso tienes una buena entrada aquí.
