The Covid-19 pandemic that has hit the world until now has had an effect on all lines of life, decreased work productivity which has an impact on increasing the economy, limited activities which have implications for increasing poverty rates. This is a serious concern in all countries of the world, as well as Indonesia.

One of the efforts made to suppress the spread of the Covid-19 Virus, the Government of Indonesia has made various efforts to encourage a decrease in the spread of infection.

The Distance Restriction Program, using masks, washing hands and avoiding crowds are also implemented throughout the country, but this cannot be used as an indicator of success in reducing the rate of spread of this virus.

Another effort made is by vaccinating, the Government of Indonesia chooses one of the vaccines with the brand Sinovac produced by China, but so far the achievement of vaccination is still very low.

Health workers who are the motors in handling Covid-19 cases are also the first targets to be vaccinated. And the coverage has reached 95%. As a medical worker, I have received 2 vaccinations, but the government's policy has changed by adding another vaccination for health workers in the form of the US-Produced Moderna vaccine.

Why People Reluctant to Vaccinate

The achievement of Sinovac vaccination for the general public is still very minimal, this is due to the lack of public understanding of the importance of vaccination as the formation of antibodies so that they are immune to this epidemic virus.

Even though there has been intense socialization through health workers, local military and police, the achievement is still very low, but this is not spread in all areas, only certain areas have very low awareness about vaccination even though the condition is very emergency.

Efforts made

We health workers continue to target vaccinations through pick-up vaccinations, meaning that together with the Army and the police we set a vaccination schedule for all villages so that they realize the importance of vaccines as an effort to protect themselves and their families from the deadly virus.

Many assumptions are sticking out that vaccination is just a business and will not guarantee someone is immune to the virus. When viewed from the perspective of a health emergency, vaccination is an attempt to provide artificial immunity, after vaccination there is no guarantee that a person will be free from virus attacks.

The concept of vaccination is actually to have a serious impact when the virus attacks, many cases are happening today in Indonesia, especially in areas where the level of understanding of vaccination is still low. Those with the category of vulnerable groups are also attacked without extra protection, it is very unfortunate if these groups often cause serious symptoms when infected and end in death.

Today, as a medical worker, I visited one of the villages in the North Aceh Sub District, actually I was personally very disappointed because after opening the free vaccination service, only 10 people registered and 6 of them could be vaccinated because they did not have co-morbidities such as heart, lung and lung disease. kidney and other diseases.

Hopefully vaccinations will continue and people will understand the benefits of vaccines as an effort to protect themselves from this deadly virus attack.
