RE: WANTED: A Viking or a Celt !
Hahahaha!
I did feature one today, but yes, finding a few more would be awesome!
Maybe @norwegianbikeman knows a few more who lurk around Steemit.
Am I allowed to be a genuine Viking and still love haggis? (It really is a great dish - but only as it's had in the UK - the American stuff just isn't the same.) Of course I am - there's a very strong connection between the Vikings and the Scots - as can be seen in multiple places in the language.
Here are two easy examples.
Child = bairn (Scottish), barn (Norwegian)
Church = kirk (Scottish), kjerke (Norwegian) - I think I spelled that right.
Same words...
Anyway, I'm off for the night - definitely need to find a few more Vikings around here.
I think you qualify! I saw the post getting ready to read it actually. This was my 'silly' I was planning. If I can try lutefisk then I can try haggis. I'll wait 'til I cross the pond for that. And yes your spelling is right (as far as I have learned)
Have a good night.
I haven't had the opportunity to try lutefisk, unfortunately - though if we ever get over there, we have to try that and surströmming. I'm sure my cousins will enjoy that!!! I'm sure @norwegianbikeman will have some other suggestions as well.
