The Cipher Machine H-4605
The rise of an electronic devices in late 1970's it lead to the smaller & cheaper type of electronical machines & with the electro mechanical versions could not be compete with these. Although the electro mechanical machines are still remained in the use for many years, they would gradually to be replacing by latest & sophisticated type of electronics & cryptographic software on the computers. Hagelin's H-4605 was the one of the first new generation machines with fully electronic generated keys.
How far have we come from that era !!
well Umm,
i didn't expect any kind of discussion like that from my posts, but if you asking then we are not so far from that era but in the present era lots of Secure Cryptographic Devices(SCDs) or Integrated Circuit payment cards are the best example of your question.
but it's not over yet in my opinion there must be some cipher machines which are kept by secret divisions of government like our past days.
